Other than science related industries, chemistry students easily find jobs in the business sector, manufacturing industries, service industries and in the public sector. Objectives of the Programme :
To produce highly motivated and talented career teachers/research chemists. To provide necessary experimental and analytical skills and prepare Postgraduate students to undertake advanced research for a higher degree. To produce professional chemists who can directly use skills and knowledge in applications of advanced chemistry in industry and higher learning. To provide broad range of knowledge on advanced topics and practical skills in research. To train the students for major research project and acquire comprehensive professional skills covering report writing, group work, information retrieval and oral presentation. To develop the potential of students to meet new challenges and to lay the foundation of versatility and innovative thinking they will need in careers such as research and teaching. To support students in acquiring good all round subject knowledge and equip them with adequate teaching skills for teaching profession in science.
