College of Nursing, Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences SGPGIMS , Raebareli Road Lucknow, invites applications for admission to one year Post Nursing Certificate Course (PNCC) in the following specialties for session commencing from 1st August, 2008.
Cardiology
CVTS
Endocrinology
Endocrine Surgery
Critical Care Medicine
Gastroenterology
Surgical Gastroenterology
Neurology
Neurosurgery
Nephrology
Urology
Hematology
Radiotherapy

Essential Qualifications: General nursing and midwifery (GNM) plus 4 years experience or B.Sc. (Nursing) plus 2 years experience in a large (at least 200 bedded) hospital.
Age Limit: For eligibility in 35 years on the 1st day of the month of start of the session i.e. on 1-8-2008. Age relaxation of a maximum of 5 years may be given to SC,ST,OBC and sponsored candidates. Reservation to widowed, divorced, legally separated women who have not re-married and disable/ handicapped persons will be as per Government’s rules.
How to apply: Persons in employment should send their application through proper channel. The applicants are required to enclose a bank draft of Rs.100/- in favour of Director, SGPGIMS, Lucknow, payable at the State Bank of India, SGPGIMS branch, Lucknow, (code no.7789), which is non-refundable. Applicants for above course should send their applications on plain paper along with to self-signed, recent passport size photograph, giving full details of
(i) Advertisement
(ii) name of the speciality and Direct or sponsored candidature
(iii) name of the candidate
(iv) father’s/husband’s name
(iv) Bank draft (no., date, amount and name of issuing bank)
(v) Date of birth
(vi) Marital status (single/married)
(vii) correspondence address
(ix) permanent address
(x) academic qualification (exam passed, board/university, subject, year, percent of marks and division)
(xi) employment details (post held, institution and period)
(xii) GNM Registration no. and date
General Information:
1- The theory examination for selection of PNCC candidates will be held on 20th July, 2008 at 11.00 AM at SGPGIMS, Lucknow and successful candidates would have to appear before and interview to be held on 21st July 2008 in the committee room of the Administrative block. The details of examination centre will be intimated through Admit Card.
2- The result of PNCC entrance examination will be available on the Institute’s
website within one week of the examination.
3- The number of seats/post advertised may increase of decrease.
4- Reservation will apply as per rules. Reservation will be admissible only to
candidates having domicile in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Candidates having domicile other than Uttar Pradesh will be treated as General Category candidates for all purposes.
5- Each selected candidate will have to take Rs.5000/-as Annual fees for the course at the time of admission.
6- An amount of Rs.5000/- (fixed) per month shall be paid to the selected (Direct
candidates). No stipend will be paid to sponsored candidates.
7- Incomplete application and application received after the last date will be
summarily be rejected.
8- In case of any dispute, the decision of the Director, SGPGIMS, Lucknow will be final.
9- The application along with Band draft and all necessary documents should be received by SGPGIMS, latest by 14th July 2008 through registered/speed post only in a envelope superscribed “application for entrance exam of PNCC, College of Nursing” and address to Principal, College of Nursing, SGPGIMS,
Raebarelly Road, Lucknow-226014. The Institute will not be responsible for
any postal delay.
