The B.Ed. Program
Eligibility
Students with a pass in Graduation with 50% and above or postgraduates (English medium, any discipline).
Admission Procedure
The selection of applicants into the B.Ed. Program is based on admission test followed by personal interview.
Admission to One year B.Ed. regular course into the Icfai College of Education, Dehradun is based on admission test and personal interview conducted by a committee constituted for the purpose. The goal of the Admissions Board of the Icfai College of Education (ICE) is to select students who show intellectual capacity, demonstrate leadership ability and possess personal characteristics that best equip them to become efficient and effective teachers. It may be noted that if a candidate fails to fulfill the eligibility criteria, his/her candidature for admission will be liable to be cancelled. The students will be admitted keeping in view the rules in force in respect of the statutory reservation of seats under various categories as per the University norms from time to time.
Eligibility
Students with a pass in Graduation with 50% and above or postgraduates (English medium, any discipline).
Commencement of classes
August 01, 2008 onwards.
Admission Criteria
The selection of applicants into the B.Ed Program is based on admission test followed by personal interview.
Admission Test: All applicants desirous of admission into the B.Ed Program are required to write the admission test, which will be of two hours duration. The admission test, evaluates the applicants abilities in teaching Aptitude, General Knowledge, General English and Teaching Methodology (English, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences/Social Studies/Maths).
The admission test for B.Ed Program will be conducted on July 04, 2008 (Friday) between 10.00 am to 12.00 pm at the Icfai College of Education, Dehradun.
Online Admit Cards: All applicants who have submitted their filled-in Application Form have to download the online admit card from June 25, 2008 onwards from the website www.iuuttarakhnad.edu.in/ice using the application number and date of birth as user-name and password respectively.
Results: Results for the Admission Test will be displayed at Icfai College of Education, Dehradun and also at www.iuuttarakhnad.edu.in/ice on July 09, 2008.
Interviews: The applicants shortlisted in the admission test will have to go through the interview conducted between July 16, 2008 - July 20, 2008 at the Icfai College of Education, Dehradun.
The details of the interview will be given online.
The final list of the admission decision will be displayed at the Icfai College of Education, Dehradun and also at www.iuuttarakhnad.edu.in/ice on July 25, 2008.

Caution Deposit
All students are required to pay a caution deposit of Rs. 2,000 along with the tuition fee. This deposit is towards use of library books, computer labs and other facilities. Caution deposit will be refunded without interest (after adjusting dues, if any) to the students on completion of the Program.
Mode of Payment
The fee and all other charges should be paid only by way of Demand Draft in favor of "IUCF A/c ICE" payable at ‘Dehradun’. Please write in capital letters your name and the program to which admission is sought, i.e., B.Ed. on the back of the Demand Draft. The fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. At the time of registration the student has to pay Rs.21,250 which includes Caution Deposit of Rs.2,000 and Students Activity Fund of Rs. 1,250 towards Semester - I fees. Payment of fee for Semester - II should be made on its first day.
Refund Policy
Any candidate who wish to withdraw from the B.Ed. Program will have to do so within seven calendar days from the date of registration. In such an event caution deposit and 50% of tuition fee will be refunded. Except caution deposit no other refund will be allowed, if a candidate withdraws from the program after seven calendar days from the date of registration.
The Icfai College of Education accepts cross Demand Drafts of any commercial bank in favor of "IUCF A/c ICE" payable at Dehradun.
Duration and Medium of Instruction
The program is of one year / two semesters duration and medium of instruction is only in English language.
Award of B.Ed. Degree
All students who successfully complete the prescribed requirements for the B.Ed. Program will be awarded the B.Ed. degree by the ICFAI University, Dehradun.
Special Reservations
There shall be special provisions for admission of students whose domicile is in the State of Uttarakhand. Which shall be, to the extent of 25 (twenty five) percent of seats in B.Ed. Program along with a concession of 25% in tuition fee, as decided by the academic council subject to the students meeting the minimum qualifying requirements.
Incase the seats remain unfilled in any course/discipline then they may be filled up by allotting them to candidates belonging to open category.
Hostel Facility
Assistance will be provided to students who require hostel accommodation (off campus).

Photocopies of the following documents duly attested must be submitted at the time of interview.
Higher Secondary / Sr. Secondary School Certificate indicating the date of birth.
Degree in original and marksheet of graduation/postgraduation.
Domicile certificate issued by competent authority.
Migration/Transfer Certificate in original from the institution last attended.

Two passport size photographs.
Certificate of date of birth.
Marksheets of qualifying examinations.
Domicile certificate.
Instructions
Make sure that you meet the eligibility criteria before filling up the Application Form.
The Application Form should be filled in Capital Letters.
Provide all the available information under appropriate sections.
Make sure to sign the Application Form.
Retain a photocopy of the completed Application Form sent to ICE.
No certificates with Application Form: Please note that certificates (original or photocopies) should not be sent along with the Application Form.
