Scholarships for students
The Executive Committee of FHRAI has approved a scholarship scheme for students. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of a combination of need and merit. Those wishing to apply will be requested to submit the application for the scholarship together with their application for admission, which will require background financial data of the family income. Only those students whose parents' annual income from salary, interest, dividends, business, rents etc is less than Rs. 2.5 lacs per annum (click here for scholarship application ) will be eligible to apply. A variable amount ranging from Rs.25,000/- to Rs.75,000/- per annum may be approved for different students selected to receive the award, based on the assessment of their financial need. Scholarship will be awarded by a Committee, which will be appointed by the Executive Committee of FHRAI. To qualify on merit, the student should have obtained at least 60% marks in the entrance test. The scholarship grant will continue during the three successive years of the student's course in the Institute, so long as he/she obtains a minimum of 60% marks on an annual basis and does not fail in any subject. Information regarding the scholarship will be sent together with the letter of admission, to facilitate the decision taken by students and parents as to whether they should accept the offer of a place at the Institute. It is therefore desirable that the applicant must submit scholarship application along with the application for admission.
Student loans
It is widely known that banks are currently very open to providing students with loans. Loans for study in India of up to Rs 7.5 lacs are available from all commercial banks. The Govt. of India has also announced that such a facility will be available without any collateral security for a loan up to Rs 4.0 lacs. This now means that the financial status of the family and its capacity to meet the expenses of a professional education for a student will not be a hindrance to those with merit and career ambitions. Students of all family backgrounds will have an equal opportunity to compete for admission and to secure a place in the FHRAI Institute.
The Executive Committee of FHRAI has also approved a provision whereby a scholarship can be granted for the emergency needs of a student in the case of an accident in the family affecting its income. This will allow the student to continue with his or her studies in the case of sudden financial difficulty. Such cases will be decided individually, on their merits. At the same time we have also introduced insurance scheme for all students to meet such contingencies.
