The application modalities are with reference to the Ph.D. Program of The ICFAI University. Selection to the Ph.D. Program is highly competitive. The goal of the admissions committee is to select applicants whose academic background, work experience, leadership abilities and communication skills meet the demands of the program and promise a successful career. Intelligent, ethical, articulate and active individuals are encouraged to pursue this program.
Eligibility
Candidates having first class postgraduate degree in Management, Engineering, Science, Commerce or Arts are eligible for admission to Ph.D. Program. Candidates with professional qualifications like CFA, CA, ICWA and CS are also eligible. Candidates should be preferably between 23-30 years if age.
Admission Process The components of evaluating the students for admission into the Ph.D. Program are:
Research Aptitude Test (RAPT)
Past academic record and work experience
Case analysis
Micro presentation
Preliminary interview
Final interview
Appropriate weightages are assigned to each of the above components and the composite score is computed based on applicants performance. Final admission is made strictly based on merit.
The admission process consists of two phases:
PHASE I This phase consists of the Research Aptitude Test (RAPT) to be held in July 13, 2008(Sunday).
Research Aptitude Test (RAPT July 2008) All applicants (except those exempted from RAPT) have to appear for Research Aptitude Test (Please refer to Admissions Calendar for the dates). The duration of the test is 3 hours. RAPT July 2008 will be conducted at 72 test centers all over India. RAPT is based on pattern similar to GMAT® and consists of multiple-choice questions in quantitative aptitude, data adequacy, vocabulary and writing ability, analytical reasoning and english comprehension.
Applicants are required to procure the Application Form on payment of Rs. 750/- by demand draft and submit it at CPAD® branches or send it to the Admissions Officer (Ph.D. Program), through speed post or courier, at the following address:

Only crossed demand drafts drawn in favor of "IUCF A/c IIMT" payable at Hyderabad will be accepted.
Application available on Website Applicants interested in registering for the RAPT July 2008, can avail any one of the following online registration facilities.
a) Applicants can fill up the online Registration Form available at www.iimtindia.org and make payment of Rs.750 towards cost of Ph.D. program prospectus, using credit card (visa/master card/Citibank card) through secure internet payment gateway and the prospectus will be sent to them. (Applicants registering online should attach their scanned color photograph on the online application form.)
b) Applicants may also download the Application Form, complete it and send to the Admissions Officer, Campus Programs Admissions Department® (CPAD)®, # 45,Nagarjuna Hills, Punjagutta, Hyderabad-500082 along with a demand draft for Rs.750 towards cost of Ph.D. Program prospectus (Demand Draft should be in favor of “IUCF A/c IIMT” payable at Hyderabad) and the same will be sent to them.
Exempted Categories Applicants who have a GMAT® score of 600 and above, those with 85th percentile and above score in CAT/XAT/GATE, and IBSAT® rankholders are exempted from RAPT and are eligible for participating in Phase II directly. The score / rank obtained in all the above mentioned exams are valid only for three years.
Online Admit Card All eligible applicants who have submitted their filled in application form for RAPT July 2008 can download their admit cards from www.iimtindia.org. The online admit card will carry the photo, name, address, roll number of the applicant, and the test date, timings and details of the test center. No hard copies of admit cards will be sent by mail.
The admit card is not transferable to any other person. Impersonation is a punishable offence under law.
Declaration of Results The applicants will be selected for Phase II on the basis of their performance in RAPT July 2008.
The results of RAPT will be available at www.iimtindia.org on the specified dates, as mentioned in the Admissions Calendar. Those who are shortlisted for Phase II of the admission process will be individually intimated through post/e-mail.
PHASE II The second phase of admission process is for two days and will be held at Hyderabad.
The shortlisted applicants will receive the interview call letter along with application form, confirmation letter, list of micro presentation topics and location map of the venue for the Phase II of admission process.
Evaluation of applicants in Phase II will be done on the basis of the following:
Case Analysis: The applicants are required to analyze a given case and submit an analysis in writing. The objective is to assess the analytical and written communication skills of the applicants.
Micro Presentation: Each applicant has to make 5-7 minute presentation to the interview panel on a topic chosen by the applicant from among the list provided in advance. This will be followed by 3-4 minute question- answer session. The objective is to assess the conceptual and oral communication skills of the applicant.
Preliminary Interview: There will be a preliminary interview to assess an applicant's competence in the subject studied.
Final Interview: The objective of the final interview is to assess the applicant's motivation, attitude and aspiration to pursue the program.
Admission Decision The admission decision is based on past academic record, relevant work experience as well as the performance in the two phases of the admission process. Those who are finally selected for admission or waitlisted will be intimated individually by post and by e-mail.
Regular classes start from January 02, 2009.
Caution Deposit All students are required to pay a caution deposit of Rs.5,000 at the time of admission. This deposit is towards library books, cases, use of computer and other facilities. The caution deposit will be refunded without interest (and after adjusting fee dues, if any) on successful completion of Ph.D. Program.
Right to Amend Rules IIMT® reserves the right to amend the rules and regulations wherever considered necessary and appropriate.
Jurisdiction Disputes relating to IIMT® and its activities are subject to Hyderabad, India jurisdiction only.

Please note that requests for change of test center will not be entertained under any circumstances. In the event of not having enough seats at the allotted test center, applicants will be allotted the nearest alternative center. IIMT® may add or delete a few test centers from the list given above, depending on the number of applicants. Details of such centers will be made available at www.iimtindia.org. Applicants are required to report at 2.00 PM at the test center on the day of RAPT.
