CONCENTRATE ON : •University and your program in specific •Scope of your field you are planning along with few research areas •Professors in your department •Speak about your Skills/ Positives when you get a chance •Just answer to the questions in couple of words, never practice big sentences •Being aggressive with a bold voice •Being confident, every question you face is a chance to prove you’re self.
What is the purpose of the trip? Which University are you planning for? • Give a simple answer – •Masters in Electrical Engineering at University of Texas at Austin •Don’t need to specify him any additional information until asked regarding research/ specialization •Answer to this question will lead to other questions
How many universities did you apply to? •You do not have to be Mr. Truth be Mr. Confident. •Never say any things like just one admit and never say you have applied to only one university.
Why this university / Why is this your first choice? •Program offered by the University is good / Ranking of the university •Projects / Research going on in the university •Professors (Carry some e-mail /letters/communication with professors) •Profile match Why USA? Or why do you plan to do MS? •Higher Education, Course work, Research/ Exposure •Scope – Better job chances in INDIA after finishing Masters
What is your GRE / TOEFL score/BE Percentage ? •Tell him Clearly •Speak of you better score first of GRE / TOEFL •If you have first class or distinction say it Low Scores? •Personal commitments, sports, Health issues •Speak some thing and give some reason •Don’t think if reason is making logic or not •If BE is good and GRE is low : say you concentrated on Academics & projects ; Vice Versa

Why are you changing your stream?( for students shifting their Major) •Interest, Passion in field of CS, throw some technical points. •Exposure to CS during my Bachelors •My Engineering project was related to using Software and thus grew interest towards computer science / passion
