Admission-B.TECH Eligibility & Admission Procedure: Admissions are made as per the directive of the State Government issued from year to year. As of now, 90% of the seats are filled up through Central Counselling from the candidates who have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination of the Council of Higher Secondary Education, West Bengal, or any equivalent examination of recognized Board or University and qualified in the Joint Entrance Examination conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board and as recommended by the Central Selection Committee (E&T). Remaining 10% seats are filled up also through Central Counselling from the candidates of All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE). There is a provision of 10% of WBJEE sets to be filled up through Management Quota.
15% of supernumerary seats are also available under Foreign Nationals / PIO / Children of Indian workers in Gulf Countries category for five (5) disciplines viz., AEIE, BT, CSE, ECE and IT. Admission under this category would be governed by the guidelines as per AICTE’s Gazette Notification vide F.No. 37-3/Legal/2004 dated 21.01.2004.
Diploma holders in Engineering/Technology and B.Sc. Degree holders are as well eligible for admission into the third semester (2nd year) of B.Tech courses on qualifying an Entrance Test so designed for the purpose by the WBJEE Board and subsequent Counseling by CSC (E&T) on supernumerary basis, as per AICTE notification.
Fee Structure: B.Tech students selected for admission shall have to pay the tuition and other fees as decided by the fee structure committee of the Government of West Bengal. Present fee structure is as follows:
Particulars B.Tech Tuition Fee (Including Development Fees of Rs.500 p.m.) Rs. 20,500 (per semester) Admission Fee Rs. 3,000 (one time only) Library Fees (Including facilities for book bank) Rs. 3,000 (per semester) Student Council Membership Fee Rs. 800 (one time only) Caution Deposit Rs. 12,000 (refundable, one time only) Fees Payble to the Institute at the time of admission Rs. 39,300 University Students' Development Fee Rs. 2,000 (Payble to WBUT, one time only) Total Fees Payble at the time of admission Rs. 41,300 Any other fees imposed by the WBUT or the State Govt. will be payable extra, as applicable.
B.Tech students shall have to pay Rs.23,500 per semester from 2nd to 8th semester.
HOSTEL FEE The candidates who wish to avail of the hostel facilities will be allotted hostel rooms on a “first come first served” basis. Each student staying in the hostel will be required deposit Rs. 10,000 as refundable hostel caution money at the time of admission. Further, the room rent of Rs. 12,000 per Semester will be payable at the beginning of every Semester. The meal and other miscellaneous charges for a given month are payable on actual basis at the beginning of the next month.
