TAMIL NADU ENGINEERING ADMISSIONS, 2008 ADMISSIONS TO THE FIRST YEAR OF THE B. Arch. DEGREE COURSES Information and Instructions to Candidates Common application form to seek admission to University Department of Anna University Chennai, Government Aided Engineering College and for the seats surrendered by the Self – Financing Engineering Colleges, under the unified Single Window Admission System. 1. Your Application Number in the coding sheet is the Registration Number of the B. Arch Admission 2008, hence you have to write the coding sheet number in all the enclosures enclosed along with the main application. 2.ALLOCATION OF SEATS, COLLEGES, COURSES etc., 2.1 Seats in B. Arch. Degree Course in Department of Anna University Chennai in the School of Architecture and Planning Campus. 2.2 Seats in B.Arch. Degree Courses in Engineering Colleges coming under the purview of the Directorate of Technical Education (DOTE), Tamil Nadu. (i) Seats in the Self Supporting Course in Govt. Aided Engineering College (ii) Seats surrendered by the Self Financing Engineering Colleges 2.3 As a prerequisite for selection to B. Arch. Degree course the candidates should have passed the National Aptitude Test in Architecture 2008 conducted by the Council of Architecture, New Delhi. 2.4 A Candidate needs to submit only one application for all the colleges mentioned above (except for special reservation). Candidates seeking admission under special reservation should file special reservation application separately for each special reservation along with main application as per instructions given in the Para 6.2. 2.5 Duration of the Programme 5 Academic Years comprising 10 Semesters. 3. ELIGIBILITY RULES FOR ALL THE SEATS EXCEPT FOR OTHER STATE QUOTA IN DEPARTMENTS OF ANNA UNIVERISTY General: Candidates satisfying the following eligibility rules as on 01-07-2008 alone are eligible to apply. Passing the qualifying examination or changing the religion etc. after this date shall not be considered. 3.1 Nativity Candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu only will be considered for admission. However, the following categories of candidates are also eligible to apply as Tamil Nadu candidate subject to certain conditions. i) Tamil Nadu candidates with schooling in Tamil Nadu from VIII, IX, X, XI & XII onwards / for the past 5 years including Diploma need not enclose the Nativity Certificate. In case they have passed any of the VIII, IX, X, XI & XII or their equivalent Examination from schools situated outside Tamil Nadu, a copy of “Nativity Certificate” (vide Certificate No. II) should be enclosed with the applications for considering them as candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu ii) Candidates belonging to Other State with schooling in Tamil Nadu from VIII, IX, X, XI & XII onwards / for the past 5 years including Diploma are eligible under Tamil Nadu Category. They need not enclose “Nativity Certificate”. They are eligible for open competition only. iii) Children of Central Government Employees otherwise not domicile of Tamil Nadu may also apply and compete under Open Competition for admission, irrespective of their domicile, provided their parents or guardians (only if parents are not alive) are serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past FIVE YEARS at the time of submission of application which should be supported by enclosing a certificate from the employer of the parent or guardian, to that effect. 1 iv) Children of persons (not domicile of Tamil Nadu) employed in Private or Public or Government recognised Institutions who are at the time of submission of application for admission employed in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years may apply and compete for admission under open competition irrespective of their domicile, provided a certificate from the management is enclosed along with the application that the person is a Permanent Employee of the Firm or Institution concerned and is working in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past FIVE YEARS. v) Applications without Employer Certificate or with defective Employer Certificate or without Nativity Certificate for the categories mentioned above will not be considered. vi) Foreign Nationals are not eligible to apply directly. They can seek admission through Government of India only. 3.2 Qualifying Examinations and Eligibility (i) (a) HSC (Academic)/Equivalent The Candidates who have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects. (1) OC and BC candidates should have secured not less than 50% marks in aggregate. (2) MBC candidates should have secured not less than 45% marks in aggregate. (3) For SC/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu a mere pass is sufficient. (b) Diploma 10+3 Diploma (any stream) recognized by Central / State Governments. (1) OC and BC candidates should have secured not less than 50% marks in aggregate in all the semesters put together. (2) MBC candidates should have secured not less than 45% marks in aggregate in all the semesters put together. (3) For SC/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu a mere pass is sufficient in all the semesters. (c) International Baccalaureate Diploma A minimum average of 50% in International Baccalaureate Diploma after 10 years of schooling, with Mathematics as compulsory subject. (1) OC and BC candidates should have secured not less than 50% marks in aggregate in all the semesters put together. (2) MBC candidates should have secured not less than 45% marks in aggregate in all the semesters put together. (3) For SC/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu a mere pass is sufficient in all the semesters. Note: 1. When the candidates produce Grade certificates, only the minimum marks applicable to the grades will be taken into account. 2. For the purpose of calculation of marks in respect of sandwich Diploma candidates, marks secured in the last two semesters shall be considered. If the industrial training intervenes in any one of the last two semesters then the marks of the previous semester in which there is no industrial training shall be considered for the purpose of calculating the marks for eligibility. (ii) APTITUDE TEST The candidates should have passed (pass mark is 80 out of 200) the National Aptitude Test in Architecture 2008 conducted by the Council of Architecture, New Delhi. 4. ALLOCATION OF SEATS Selection shall be made under seven categories namely Open Competition, Backward Class, Backward (Christians), Backward Class (Muslims) Reservation, MBC&DNC Reservation, Scheduled Caste Reservation and Scheduled Tribe Reservation following the rules of reservation of the Government of Tamil Nadu. The candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu only will be considered for communal reservations and the list of communities eligible to compete against the reserved quota is appended (Annexure - I). 2 5. Candidates seeking admission against ST/ SC / MBC & DNC / BC / BC (Christians) / BC (Muslims) quota should obtain the certificates of social status issued by the competent authority in the prescribed Permanent Community Certificate Card in Tamil Nadu and enclose an attested xerox copy of the same along with the application. Candidates who have not furnished an attested xerox copy of the Permanent Community Certificate Card at the time of submission of the application will be treated as belonging to “OC”. They are further informed that in the event of such a decision, the eligibility conditions & rules prescribed for other communities will be applicable for such candidates and if such candidates do not satisfy the rules of ‘OC candidates’, their applications are liable to be rejected. No correspondence in this connection will be entertained. (a) The applicants from Tamil Nadu State should have a valid permanent community certificate in the card format issued by the competent authority (for ST/SC/MBC & DNC and BC in the format prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu in G.O. Ms. No. 781 (Revenue Department) dated: 02.05.1988. This is applicable for BC, BC (Christians) and BC (Muslims) also. In the case of ST candidates, the community certificate should have been issued by the Revenue Divisional Officer / P.A. (General) to the Collector of Chennai / Sub-Collector of the District concerned (except Chennai) vide Govt. Lr. No. 32061/ADWII/89-2, dt: 27.12.1989 and Lr. No. 21424/ADWII/94-4, dt: 15.11.1994 from the Secretary to Government, Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department, Chennai – 600 009. The Permanent Community Certificate Card issued to ST by Tahsildars up to 11.11.1989 is valid. (b) Certificate of social status obtained from other states will not be considered for communal reservation. (c) For communities linked with Districts (See Annexure-l) the candidates should obtain their community certificate in the respective districts. Community certificates obtained from other than the respective district will not be considered. (d) At the time of admission the candidates should produce the original Community Certificate Card along with an attested xerox copy of the same. Note: (i) No person who professes a religion different from Hinduism or Sikkhism or Buddhism shall be deemed to be a member of a Scheduled caste. (ii) A member of the Scheduled Caste on conversion to Christianity will be considered only under BC (Christians) and not under Scheduled caste, for admission purposes. (iii) A member of the Scheduled Tribe will however continue to be treated as ST irrespective of whether he/she is a convert to any religion or is a descendent of such a convert. (iv) A candidate who claims to belong to Scheduled Caste by virtue of reconversion should give full details regarding the date of reconversion and whether the candidate on such reconversion is accepted by members of the particular community of the locality where he/she resides as belonging to the particular community which he/she claims to be and submit a copy the of relevant certificate for reconversion from competent authority and the copy of Gazette notification to that effect. (v) ST/SC/MBC & DNC/BC, BC (Christians) / BC (Muslims) candidates are eligible for selection under Open Competition in addition to the reservations made for them. (vi) The candidates are informed that, The community recorded in their certificates should figure in the list of communities approved by the Government of Tamil Nadu (Annexure – I) 6. SEATS SET APART FOR CERTAIN CATOGORIES 6.1. Other State Candidates Two seats in B. Arch Degree Programme in the Department of Anna University Chennai are reserved for candidates belonging to states other than Tamil Nadu. Candidates from other states will be considered for admission against these reserved seats only. They should have passed (minimum mark for pass is 80 out of 200) the National Aptitude Test in Architecture 2008 conducted by Council of Architecture, New Delhi. They should furnish the Permanent Residence Certificate (Certificate VII) issued by the competent authority. 3 Note : For Pre-degree examinations (conducted by universities), if second year marks only are taken into account for awarding a class, then that year’s mark alone will be considered for eligibility and ranking. All such candidate should produce a certificate to that effect from the university. However they should also produce the copy of the mark sheet of the first year at the time of submitting application. 6.2 Special Categories Since the special reservation categories are being considered by separate committees, candidates are instructed to send separate special reservation application along with main application. They should fill the special reservation application and send it along with the main application except for sports. They should also enclose a DD for Rs.100/- for each special reservation along with the appropriate certificates. For Physically Challenged candidates in addition to the above they have to enclose an additional self addressed envelope for sending the Physically Challenged Counselling Call Letter. If appropriate certificates or supporting documents for special reservation claim are not enclosed with the Special reservation application then their claim under such categories will not be considered. Candidate seeking admissions against the special reservation of seats under Item No. 22, Code No.1 mentioned below for Eminent Sports Person should produce the main application and the special reservation application and a Demand draft for Rs.100/-Drawn in favour of The Director, Admissions, Anna University Chennai, Chennai -25 and copies of the relevant certificates etc. in person to the Secretary TNEA as per Annexure II which also contains selection procedure. They have to enclose a self addressed envelope for sending the Sports Counselling Call Letter. Candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu native Only will be eligible for the Special reservations. Table showing the reservation for different categories Item No Code No Category 1 Son, Daughter and Wife/Widow of Ex-Servicemen belonging to Tamil Nadu. 21 2 Orthopaedically Physically Handicapped/Hearing Impaired (Deaf)/Visually Impaired. 22 1 Eminent Sportsperson(International/National/State level Participations) Note: (i) Candidates claiming admission against the reservation of seats under item No. 21, Code No.1 should enclose the certificate in the Format appended to the information and instructions to candidates (Certificate No. III) from an officer of the Department of Ex-servicemen’s Welfare of Tamilnadu not below the rank of Assistant Director of Ex-servicemen’s Welfare of the district of which the dependent is a native. Candidates called for counselling should produce ID cards of their parents. (ii) Candidates seeking admission against the reservation [Item No.21, Code No.2] set apart for orthopaedically Physically Challenged / Hearing impaired (Deaf) / Visually Impaired should produce the certificate from the Medical Board of the District concerned certifying the nature and extent of disability in percentage and with regard to his/her suitability for admission to Engineering Colleges specifically mentioned below and in the Format appended to this application (Certificate No. IV / V / VI) respectively. Certificates obtained from the individual Doctor will not be considered. (iii) Candidates seeking selection against the seats under the Special reservations (item 21 & 22) should also satisfy the eligibility rules mentioned in item 3 and selection of candidates to the above special categories will be in addition to their selection under general category. 6.3. Eligibility criteria for various disabilities a. Norms for Orthopedic Disability Candidates with permanent physical impairment of 40% and above are considered as disabled, Hence, candidates with orthopedic disability of the following types are eligible for claiming Engineering admission against Physically Challenged category (Certificate No. IV) (i) Independent in ambulance with or without calipers but without walking aids. (ii) Good Standing Balance without calipers but without any support. (iii) Hand Function with normal limit without any aid (iv) Good control over bladder & bowl (v) Disease must be non progressive 4 b. Norms for Hearing Disability Candidates with hearing ability of 40 db and above only in the better ear with speech discrimination score of 50% and above are considered disabled and hence eligible for claiming Engineering admissions against Physically Challenged category (Certificate No. V) c. Norms for Vision Impairment Candidates with low vision of 40% and above are considered as disabled, and hence eligible for claiming Engineering admission against Physically Challenged category. (Certificate No. VI) Low Vision: person with low vision means a person with impairment of vision of less than 6/18 to 6/60 with best correction in the better eye or impairment of field in any one of the following categories: a) Reduction of fields less than 50 degrees b) Heminaopia with macular involvement c) Attitudinal defect involving lower fields Categories of Visual Disability All with correction Category Better eye Worse eye %age impairment Category O 6/9 – 6/18 6/24 to 6/36 20% Category I 6/16 – 6/36 6/20 to Nil 40% Category II 6/40 – 4/60 or field of vision 10º - 20º 3/60 to Nil 75% Category III 3/60 to 1/60 or field of vision 10º F.C at 1 ft. to Nil 100% Category IV F.C at 1 ft. to Nil or field of vision 10º F.C at 1 ft. to Nil 100% One eyed persons * 6/6 F.C at 1 ft. to Nil or field of vision 10º 30% Note: F.C. means Finger Count * ONE EYED with normal vision are not considered as disabled. 7. MODE OF SELECTION (a) ADMISSION TO GENERAL CATEGORY The selection of candidates for the above seats will be on the basis of the marks they have obtained in the qualifying examination and also in the NATA 2008 conducted by Council of Architecture. The candidates should have passed NATA and should submit the mark sheet along with the application. Those who have not appeared and passed in the NATA are not eligible to be considered for the B.Arch. Degree Course. HSC Academic/Diploma/Equivalent The maximum marks for the Aptitude Test will be 200. The total academic marks will be reduced to a base of 200. For Diploma candidates the maximum marks for Aptitude Test is 200. The academic marks in all the Semesters put together will be reduced to 200. Ranking of the candidates will be done based on the total marks to maximum of 400 (NATA 200 and Academic mark 200) A merit list will be prepared based on the total marks of 400. In cases where more than one Candidate have got the same marks in the common merit list, the inter-se-merit among such Candidates shall be determined in the order of priority as specified below:- (1) Academic Aggregate for 200 (2) Date of Birth (3) Random number assigned. The overall rank and Community wise rank lists will be published in the web site of Anna University Chennai at http://www.annauniv.edu/tnea2008. No separate announcement will be made in the Newspapers. The Candidates will also be informed of their rank individually by post through the counselling Call Letter. College will be allotted only through counselling. (b) Admission to Special Reservation Category. Candidates who are applying for the reserved / special categories of seats under item 21 & 22 of table 6.2 should satisfy the rules stipulated for admission. Allocation of Special Reservation seats for item 21 & 22 will be followed as per horizontal reservation. 5 Selection for the Item 21 will be based on their ranking on the total marks (out of 400) obtained in the qualifying Examination as given in 7(a). Selection for the item 22 will be based on the total marks obtained in sports as per Annexure II If there are not enough candidates under any of the special reservation, the vacancies will be diverted to the general category. 8. ADMISSION FOR OTHER STATE CANDIDATES IN ANNA UNIVERSITY Two seats in B. Arch. Programme in the University Department of Anna University Chennai are reserved for candidates belonging to States other than Tamil Nadu. Candidates from the Other States will be considered for admission against these reserved seats only. They have to tick the relevant box in the outer cover. 8.1 Eligibility Rules (a) Nativity Applicant should be a citizen of India but not belonging to Tamil Nadu (b) Minimum Qualification As prescribed for Tamil Nadu OC Candidates (c) Minimum Mark rules As prescribed for Tamil Nadu OC Candidates. (d) Aptitude Test Only candidates passed the NATA2008 conducted by COA, New Delhi are eligible. A Certificate of Permanent Residence in the format given in certificate VII should be furnished 8.2 Mode of Selection Candidates for admission to B.Arch. Programme will be selected based on their performance in the qualifying examination and in NATA2008 conducted by COA, New Delhi (200: 200). 9. COUNSELLING OF CANDIDATES 9.1 Candidates will be called for counselling in the order of their merit. Based on the merit and communal reservation, allotment to the college chosen by the candidate will be made. Candidates have to opt for colleges/Branches that are available at the time of counselling. 9.2 Candidates have to bring Cash / DD for Rs.5000/- (Rs.1000/- in case of SC/ST belonging to Tamil Nadu) and all their original certificates when they come for counselling. 9.3 If a candidate has deposited all the certificates to an institution where he/she has already been admitted, a letter from the Head of the institution should be brought to that effect. In that case only, true copies of certificates can be accepted for verification. 9.4 The Counselling will be done for all the B.Arch. courses coming under the unified Single Window Systems for all Categories. If vacancies in one College/ Category have been filled up, or not opted by the candidate, he can choose the remaining College/Category, whatever is available and admissible to him. CHOICE ONCE MADE IS FINAL AND CAN NOT BE CHANGED The date, time and venue for counselling will be intimated to the candidates and also published in the press. No change of date/time of counselling is permissible. Authorities are not responsible for the postal delay; or non receipt of counselling intimation. Candidates who do not attend the counselling may have to forgo the claim of admission. Due to unforeseen and unavoidable reasons, if a candidate is unable to attend the counselling on the specified date and time, he/she can authorise his/her parent on his/her behalf and the parent’s decision will be binding on the candidate. If the total marks of candidate gets altered due to retotalling/revaluation, he/she can attend counselling as per the new mark and rank, though the call letter specifies different time, which is as per original mark. Once allotted a seat the amount Rs.5,000/- (Rs.1000/- in case of SC/ST of Tamil Nadu) already paid at the time of counselling will be adjusted towards the tuition fee that has to be paid to the respective allotted college. If the candidate is not joining as per allocation he/she has to forfeit the amount paid. All admission made through Single Window System are provisional. 10. REGISTER NUMBER FOR ADMISSION 10.1 Your Coding sheet Number is the Registration Number of the Engineering Admission 2008. 6 10.2 All the enclosures to the application should bear the Application Number at the top right hand corner. 10.3 The Registration Number should be quoted in all correspondences connected with the application in future. 11. PROCEDURE FOR REGISTRATION OF APPLICATION FOR Application form will be issued from 04.07.2008 and can be obtained in person from the Examination Centre, Anna University Chennai by paying the registration fee of Rs.500/- (Rs.250/- in case of SC/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu) in the form of Demand Draft. Candidates can also get the application by post from the Secretary, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions, Anna University Chennai, Chennai 25 by sending a requisition along with DD (The DD should be in favour of The Director Admissions, Anna University Chennai Payable at Chennai) for the relevant registration fee of Rs.650/- (Rs.400/- in case of Tamil Nadu SC/ST) which includes postal charges and an address slip to which the application is to be sent. Candidates have to send the filled in application by Post or in Person along with the Xerox copies of Mark Sheet(s), Proof of Age and copies of all other relevant Certificates to the Secretary, TNEA 2008, Anna University Chennai, Chennai – 600 025 on or before the due date. Your Registration Number must be written on top right hand corner of all the certificates. Candidates seeking admission under Special Reservation (except Sports Quota) shall submit separate Special Reservation application along with main application by post or in person in the prescribed format available in “Information and Instructions to Candidates” with an additional fee of Rs.100/- in the form of Demand Draft for each special reservation enclosing relevant certificates. Candidates seeking admissions under Sports Quota are directed to submit their main application as well as special reservation application along with the documents and additional fee of Rs.100/- in the form of Demand Draft Drawn in favour of the Director, Admissions, Anna University Chennai, Chennai –25 to the Secretary, TNEA, Examination Centre, Anna University Chennai only in Person on or before the due date. According to sports merit the candidate can choose B.Arch. Courses. Candidates are also permitted to download the application from the website (http://www.annauniv.edu/tnea2008) and fill it up and send the downloaded application along with the registration fee Rs.500/- for General Category Rs.250/- for Tamil Nadu SC/ST, indicated in the application in the form of Demand Draft and copies of relevant documents on or before the due date. Downloaded application without Registration fee will be rejected. All Demand Drafts should be drawn in favour of “The Director, Admissions, Anna University Chennai” payable at Chennai. The SC/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu desirous of availing fee concession should submit a certificate obtained from the Head of the Institution last studied/studying (or) true copy of the SC/ST community Certificate (or) true copy of the transfer certificate of the candidate to the effect that the candidate belongs to Tamil Nadu SC/ST Community. Application forms obtained at concessional rates, if submitted by candidates not belonging to SC/ST will be summarily rejected. SC converts to other religion are not eligible to avail the concessional rate of application forms. PAYMENT BY ANY OTHER MODE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED 12. GENERAL 12.1. The candidates are required to enclose only the true copies of the following certificates along with the application: (i) NATA mark sheet and Hall Ticket. (ii) Mark sheets (All appearance) of HSC or Equivalent Examination (iii) X Mark Sheet (iv) Transfer Certificate (v) Permanent Community Certificate Card, if applicable (vi) Nativity Certificate / Permanent Residence Certificate, if applicable 12.2.Candidates seeking admission under special category(s) should send separate special reservation applications along with main application and obtain the necessary certificate(s) in the prescribed Forms appended to the application form as required under Para 6.2 and enclose the true copies of such certificate along with the applications. Any certificate produced at a later date will not be accepted. 7 12. 3. Applications not received on or before the due date, not in the prescribed form, not correctly filled up or not enclosed the prescribed certificates and documents or not fulfilling the terms of the instructions, will be considered defective and are liable for rejection without notice. The TNEA Secretary will not be responsible for any delay in Post or otherwise in respect of receipt of application after the due date. No correspondence will be entertained in this respect. 12.4. The candidates are informed that the Hall Ticket of the Aptitude Test should be preserved and produced to the Dean of Anna University Chennai / Principal of the Engineering College, where the candidate is allotted, at the time of admission. Failure to submit the above will result in cancellation of admission. 12.5. All the Columns in both sides of the coding sheets must be filled up without fail. 12.6. The candidates have to join the colleges to which they are allotted within the time notified in the admission order failing which the seats will be deemed to have fallen vacant. No request for reconsideration of admission shall be entertained. 12.7. Detailed information regarding tuition fees and special fees are available in the Booklet on ‘Information about colleges’. Other details like Scholarship, Fee Concession, Hostel Facilities, Examinations etc., can be had from the Principal of the college/Anna University in which the candidate is joining. 12.8. Selected candidates and their parents/ guardians will have to sign a joint declaration in the form given. This declaration should be given to the College at the time of admission. 12.9. Candidates should ensure that correct marks are furnished by him/her in his/her application. If it is found, on scrutiny of his/her marks that the marks furnished by him/her in the application are not correct, then he/she will forfeit the admission no matter at what stage of the course, he/she will be in at that time. 12.10. The candidates are informed that just because they have provisionally admitted, they cannot claim any right for admission or continuation of study, if they are found to be ineligible on actual verification of the original certificates or particulars they produced, in accordance with the rules prescribed for admission. 12.11 Further, the confirmation of Admission is subject to verification of marks certificates with the Director of Government Examinations. If the Marks certificate is found to be BOGUS, (i) Admission is liable for cancellation at any stage of study (ii) he/she will be debarred from pursuing any course of study for a period of 3 Years. (iii) Legal action will be taken against him/her for furnishing forged marks. 13. General Instructions to fill up Application Form 13.1. Encircle the code numbers wherever specified for the entries applicable to you. 13.2. Enclose the relevant certificates wherever asked for along with the application. Submission of certificates at a later date shall not be accepted. 13.3. That I am aware that the curriculum for the various courses is not rigid and that my son /daughter /ward will follow the syllabi for the various courses in force at the time of his/her admission and that any revision or modification made in the syllabi during the course of his/her study in the Institution will be binding on him/her. 5. That I am aware that if my son /daughter /ward does not get minimum of 50 per cent of marks in the day to day valuation of his/her work and progress he/she will not be sent up for the University Examination. 6. That in case of my son’s/daughter’s/ward’s progress in studies is uniformly poor in the Institution his/her studies are liable to be terminated by the issued of Transfer Certificate. 7. That in case my son/daughter/ward becomes a scholarship holder or comes to enjoy educational concessions like half-fee, or full-fee etc., and does not show special progress, the scholarships or educational concessions are liable to be cancelled and that if my son’s/daughter’s/ward’s conduct and character are not good these will be cancelled. 8. That my son/daughter/ward is aware that breach of discipline and rules or bad conduct in the N.C.C. or extra-curricular activities will also entail summarily forfeiture of seat in the Institution, in addition to such other proceedings that may be taken against him/her. 9. That I am aware that if my son/daughter/ward is admitted into the hostel he/she will strictly abide by the rules and regulations in force in the hostel and that any breach of discipline or rules or any unruly conduct or undesirable activities will be summarily dealt with by forfeiture of seat both in the hostel and in the institution in addition to such other proceedings that may be taken against him/her. 10. If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the authority, the concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if his explanation is not found satisfactory, the authority would expel him from the Institution.
