BSNL has decided to launch Data Services on CDMA 2000 IX by using its Internet Connect Card (ICC). The CDMA IX ICC will provide Internet service @ 144 KBPS to subscribers who use laptops or desktops. The service will be available in all those locations where CDMA IX MSC based coverage is available. However, Internet connectivity will not work during roaming at present. The two types of data cards available for BSNL customers are:
(A) Network Interface Card (NIC): For Internet speed up to 144 KBPS
(B) EVDO Card: Internet speed up to 2.4 MBPS *
Tariff can be ascertained from local BSNL authorities :
Note: Voice will be permitted within SDCA as per regulatory requirement.
Other terms and conditions:
(i) In respect of maintenance of NIC and EVDO Card (Internet Connect Card) separate instructions will be issued soon.
(ii) Fixed monthly charges will be collected in advance and usage charges will be collected after the month-end.
(iii) At the time of issue of Demand Note, following charges will be collected:
a) Activation charges (as applicable)
b) Security deposit and Advance rental deposit (Local/STD/ISD) for new connections
c) Security deposit of Internet Connect Card (if applicable)
d) Advance monthly rental for Internet Connect Card (if applicable)
(iv) Service tax and other taxes will be extra.
