Comed-K to deduct 10% of fee

BANGALORE: In a major relief to students, Comed-K on Monday decided to deduct only 10 per cent of the fee paid by students who surrender medical seats.
Comed-K secretary S Kumar said: "With the CET Cell scheduled to start its casual vacancy round of counselling from July 25-29, we have decided to deduct only 10 per cent of the fee, if they surrender the seat before July 30. We do not want students to be deprived of the 800 additional seats that have been added to this year's seat matrix."
"However, this facility is applicable only to students who have taken the Karnataka CET," Kumar added. Comed-K had earlier decided not to refund any amount if a student surrenders the medical seat. "Now, we have revised the penalty clause and students will lose only 10 per cent of the fee and not the entire amount," Kumar said.
Comed-K has also decided to extend the fee benefit to engineering students as well. Students who surrender the seat up to September 10 will lose only 10 per cent of the fee.
The regulatory committee has directed Comed-K to hold counselling to fill up medical seats made available to Comed-K member after the completion of two rounds of counselling. Comed-K has decided to hold a counselling for medical seats on August 7 at NMKRV College, Jayanagar
