Doctoral Degree Programmes
I. Eligibility Criteria for admission to Doctoral Degree programmes:
a . Candidates should possess Master’s degree in the subject concerned from a
recognized Agricultural /Animal Sciences University / Deemed University/
Institutions/ Colleges recognized by ICAR.
In addition :
i. For admission to Doctoral programme in Fisheries Resources &
Management/Fisheries Environment & Ecology / Aquaculture – candidates
possessing M.F.SC. in Fish Production & Management are also eligible.
ii. For admission to Doctoral programme in Fish Processing Technology –
candidates possessing M.F.Sc. degree as industrial Fishery Technology
are also eligible.
iii. For admission to doctoral programme in Fishery Microbiology – candidates
possessing M.F.Sc. degree in any field of Fishery Science are also eligible.
b. Candidates should possess a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.75 out of 4.0 or Overall Grade Point Average of 7.50 out of 10.00 or its equivalent in their master’s degree. In case of students belonging to SC/ST/Cat. I, a mere pass would be adequate.
c. Candidates whose Master’s degree is not graded either on points or marks
are also eligible.
II. Mode of Selection for Doctoral Degree programme :
a. The selection of candidates shall be done on the basis of merit list prepared
as follows

Research publications (one mark for each publication) 05 5. For distinction in Sports /Cultural activities 05 6. For Physically Handicapped/Anglo Indians/Scouts & Guides/ Ex-Servicemen/Defence personnel 05
b. Candidates securing less than 50% of total marks as calculated above shall
not be called for counselling. While SC/ST/Cat-O candidates securing less
than 35 percentage marks shall not be called for counseling.
c. Candidates who have secured grades in 4 or 10 point scale shall submit a
copy of the certificate of equivalent percentage, failing which, their
applications shall be rejected.
d. Candidates whose Master’s degree is not graded, the marks obtained by
such candidates in written test will be calculated for 100 marks subject to
approval of Academic Council
