AIEEE ADMISSION NOTICE-2008
In compliance of the directives of the Government of India, Department of Secondary and Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, the CBSE will be conducting the Seventh All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examination (AIEEE) for admission to degree level courses in Engineering and Architecture in National Institute of Technology (NITs), Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs), Deemed Universities and Institutions in Central/States/UTs/other than those covered by Joint Entrance Examination/State Level Entrance Examination for paid or unpaid seats based on the score. Tentative list of participating Institutions will be contained in the Information Bulletin for AIEEE-2008.
1. Scheme of Examination:
Candidates opting for degree courses in Engineering/Architecture would be required to undertake test in the following papers: COURSES PAPERS B.E./B.Tech. Paper- I B.Arch./B. Planning Paper-II
2. Schedule of Examination:
Date of Examination Paper Subjects Timings Duration 27.04.2008 Paper –I Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics 9:30–12:30 Hrs 3 hours 27.04.2008 Paper -II Mathematics- Part-I Aptitude Test – Part-II Drawing Test –Part -III 14:00–17:00 Hrs 3 hours
3. Venue of Examination:
As per the cities stated in the Information Bulletin for AIEEE 2008.
4. Medium of Examination: Hindi/English
5. Eligibility:
Candidates must have passed 10+2 (Senior Secondary – Class –XII) examination or its equivalent referred to as a qualifying examination from a recognized Board/University for admission to B.E/B.Tech., B.Arch. & B. Planning Courses as under:
Courses Compulsory Subjects Any One of the Optional Subjects B.E/B.Tech. Physics & Mathematics Chemistry, Bio–Technology, Computer, Science, Biology B.Arch./B. Planning Mathematics with 50% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level
The candidates appearing in 10+2 (Class –XII) final or equivalent examination may also appear in AIEEE provisionally, subject to their fulfilling the specified eligibility criteria at the time of appearing for counselling. Admissions to AIEEE are meant for Indian Nationals only.
6. Date of Birth:
Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1983 are eligible. However, in case of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Physically Challenged candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by five years meaning thereby candidates born on or after October 01,1978 are eligible. The number of attempts, which a candidate can avail at All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examination, shall be limited to 03(three) uniformly for all the candidates.
One Time Exemption: Candidates who have already availed three attempts or more will be permitted to appear in All India Engineering /Architecture Examination 2008, as a last chance in 2008.
