What's GConnect?
GConnect is a community website meant for officers of Govt. of India, their kins and anybody else who wants to be a part of this community.
Who is behind GConnect?
Hi, This is Raman and Suresh. We are presently working in Customs, Trichy, Tamilnadu. The idea of GConnect was born one afternoon after we had our lunch and were chatting. We don't exactly remember how the topic came up, but somehow the idea of starting a website which could be both useful and entertaining to all officers in various Govt. departments just came up. Frankly, we hadn't actually decided then. It was just a thought. But over the days, the thought grew stronger and then we seriously discussed about putting the plan into action. And soon enough, GConnect was born.
GConnect is not a site where we throw up some content and people just read and go off. GConnect is an attempt to build an online community where everybody can participate. A place where, everybody can tell their opinion, share their experiences, get their doubts clarified with their peers, show off their skills in whatever they are good at......and so on.
GConnect is none of this right now and it can never be without YOUR participation and contribution.
Ok. Enough of that. Now let's talk about what GConnect has in store for you.
Before we look at the features of GConnect, we would like to emphasize that while anyone is free to browse through the site, there are many interesting features that are available only to registered members. After all, it's supposed to be a community website and we would like you to be a part of it. So once you finish reading this page, don't forget to register, unless of course, you have already registered.
Registration process is very simple. Press “Register” Link at the Top and key in Username and Password of your choice along with your basic details such as Designation, your email ID, city etc. You will get a confirmation in your Email Inbox within few seconds, from where you can come back to GConnect as a registered member.
Features of GConnect:
Forum::An Internet forum is a web application for holding discussions and posting user generated content. Internet forums are also commonly referred to as Web forums, message boards, discussion boards, (electronic) discussion groups, discussion forums, bulletin boards, fora (the Latin plural) or simply forums.
Find the Forum in GConnect at the Main Menu under the Community Section. You can start a new discussion or participate in an existing discussion. Now we have some Categories such as Service, Sports etc and we will keep on adding categories as the community grows on. You can get your doubts clarified or throw light on anything in which your mate has a doubt. Want to give bit of your mind? No problem. You can use Forum to let off your feelings.
Blog::Blog (an abridgment of the term web log) is in this context a web page, where entries are commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. It is available at GConnect under the main menu item Community. You can write about anything under the sun. Show off your skill Mate! And share your sense of humour, experiences, suggestions and so on.
Just login using your username and password and rush to blog Section. You can find all the existing postings. Get yourself updated with what your friends have added in the blog and make your presence felt by adding comments for the articles receive your interest. Find the Blog dash board at the left top, from where you can go to your home of blog. All the postings made by you at the blog will be ready for editing. Use “Make new entry” button for posting new article.
Groups::Group is another feature of GConnect, where you can get connected to Groups of your interest where people similar to wave length of yours are already in. You can also start a new Group. Discuss among your group members just like forum.
Post Office::Send private messages through Post Office to your friends registered in Gconnect. Email alert sent by GConnect will prompt your friend to catch your message. The message sent by you is purely private and nobody can see your message except the user to whom you have sent the message.
Service::Get useful resources such as Admin Rules, Circulars, Forms etc., at ease from the Service Section at the Main menu.

The impact of pay commission report on inflation was already factored in when the Cabinet cleared the report.
