1. CENTRE OF GRAVITY AND MOMENT OF INERTIA
Momemt of Inertia of simple rigid bodies - Oscillations of rigid bodies - Radius of gyration - Moment of Inertia of rectangular, triangular plates and cylinder.

2. KINEMATICS AND KINETICS OF PARTICLES
Kinematics of particles: Plane, rectilinear motion - time independent motion - Curvilinear motion - rectangular coordinates - projectile motion - normal and tangential coordinates.
Kinetics of particles: Equation of motion - work and energy - potential and Kinetic energy - conservation of energy.

Impulse and Momentum: Impulse and collision - elastic and inelastic collisions - momentum principle - conservation of momentum.

3. FIBER OPTICS
Light wave propragation in optical fibers - types of optical fibers - step index and graded index - Attenuation, distortion and dipersion of light waves in optical fibers - optical fibers for communication - sources, detectors, connectors, couplers receptors and multiplexers - other applications in engineering and medicine.

4. MARINE PHYSICS
Gyroscope, gyroscopic effect, gyro compass, repeaters. SONAR , Echo sounder Ultrasonic: use ultra sound to measure the depth , flaw detection.

5. MODERN PHYSICS
Satellite communication, Submarine cables, RADAR - principles, imaging, X-rays: production of x-rays images - industrial application.
