HABIT OF READING BOOKS
Books are treasures of knowledge. The heaped up wisdom of the ages lies peacefully in a book, and it can be ours if we have the will to pick it up. It is always to be remembered that a book can bring seachange to the person reading it. There are four kind of readers. The first is like the hour-glass,and their reading being as the sand, it runs and runs out and leaves not a mark behind. Second one is like a sponge, which absorbes everything, and returns it in nearly the same state, only a little director. Third one is like a jellybag allowing all that is pure to pass away. And the fourth is .ike the slave. Like readers, books are of many kinds, some books are to be tasted, other to be swallowed, some few to be chewed and digested.
Reading make a full man, means not just to study the useful jooks for the sake of learning, but to explore each and every book Ne come across. The habit of reading is a sign of culture. It is a great source of enjoyment and the best means of utilising time. Entertaining books are numerous and varied. There is always ;omething to suit individual tastes Like suspense laden detective itories, war narratives, science fictions, descriptive ravelogues, Romantic novels, biographics, plays and poetry the list goes on and in.
Every book that a person reads leaves a deep impression on him. Even a casual reader who picks up a book just to kill time, earns something. While he reads for pleasure,he gathers little bits and pieces of information and wisdom from books and all these fragments together form a vast store of knowledge, which eflects on his personality. After a tiresome day, there is nothing more welcome than to get lost for sometime in the dreamland of books where the master story letters of the world wait to take you away from your worries to their own magic world, We have spend some of the best hours of our life together in books and should always be thankful for the pleasure and knowledge they have given us.

Parents & teachers have a very important role in the development of children.during childhood, they should teach about importance of books & habit of reading Books give information about everything. From spiritual activities to food recipes, from sports to sex- take any subject & the information will be available in books. Ther are so many good books -just to mention a few- 1)"MRITUNJAY" A MARATHI NOVEL by Shivaji Sawant- gives in detais about lifr story of "KARNA" in MAHABHARATA 2)GEETARAHASYA -by written LOKMANYA TILAK when he was in jail 3)SHYAMCHI AAI- by Sane Guruji 4)Discovery of India-Pandit Nehru 5)Autobiographies of great leaders 6)Good books which give health related information 7)Yoga & Pranayam related books Once a child reads such books he gets inspired & "GOOD SANSKAR" is created Unfortunately, nowadays TV serials & channels have created "JADU" & most of the children are sitting in front of TV.Most of these programmes are not so good.Children watch these low quality serials, movies - with excess of action, movies which show murders, heroines who act less & expose more. To avoid this & to prevent a child getting addicted to TV- incultate the habit of reading.Give him good books. There are so many good authors in each state of India & child can get good books in his mothertongue.
