THE IMPACT OF TELEVISION
Science has given us many wonderful gifts. Television is one of the most wonderful gifts of modern science. It is a popular means of entertainment. It brings the whole world to our drawing room.
Various TV Serials are telecast. Various channels show different programmes, films, serials, plays, musical programmes and telefilms give us entertainment. Live telecast of important cricket matches tennis tournaments and many other functions give us full enjoyment. News bulletins keep us well-informed about important events happening in the world. For instance, the earth quake.
Tsunami impact on sea, and road accidents etc are televised to the
spectatorcs.
Television is used for importing education also. Special programmes for students are telecast. Thus, television is very useful to all - students, grown -up literate or illiterate persons.
Again we see many advertisements during T.V. programmes. This helps both the traders and the buyers. Television is a very powerful medium to appeal to the common people.
There are some disadvantages of T.V also. Too much T.V viewing may affect the eyes. Students spend quite a lot of time in viewing the TV programmes and thus TV is a hindrance to studies. Scenes of horror, murders etc. affect young minds deeply and prove harmful. But if TV is used for viewing selected programmes, it becomes a boon. It is indeed a wonderful invention
