The Ali Yavar Jung National Institute for the Hearing Impaired is an institute providing all round services to the Hearing impaired. It also offers remedial and therapeutic services to people with speech problems and the mentally retarded. The Institute was established in August 9th, 1983, affiliated to the Ministry of Social justice and Empowerment, Government of India.
It has its regional centers in Kolkatta, New Delhi, Secunderabad, and Bhubaneswar. It offers paramedical graduation and post-graduation programs and also provides qualifications to train the hearing impaired population. The Institute at Mumbai and the regional centers are affiliated to various universities to provide degrees, diploma and certificates to the relevant training programs.
