Power Grid invites application from fresh Electrical Engineers Graduates and Diploma holders as Assistant Engineer and Junior Engineer by Walk-In-Interview for its distribution and sub-distributions system and expansion of projects works at many places in differents states across country :
Eastern Zone-I : Assistant Engineer - 87, Junior Engineer - 87, Walk-in at Patna
Eastern Zone-II : Assistant Engineer - 35, Junior Engineer - 35, Walk-in at Bhubaneswar
North Zone-I : Assistant Engineer - 20, Junior Engineer - 20, Walk-in at Jaipur
North East Zone-I : Assistant Engineer - 15, Junior Engineer - 15, Walk-in at Guwahati
West Zone-I & II : Assistant Engineer - 18, Junior Engineer - 18, Walk-in at Nagpur
Reservation to SC/ST/OBC/PH/ Ex-Serviceman will as per Govt. of India rules.

Initial contract will be given for 2 years and depending upon the requirements and work satisfaction contract can be extended for 1 year more.

About the Job:
Government of India has given a special emphasis for rural electrification of the villages and households in the country with the ultimate aim of providing “Electricity to All” under Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojna and has involved Central PSUs to supplement the efforts of the State Govt., State Utilities for implementation of the programme. POWERGRID has been assigned around 31000 villages at a cost of Rs. 3000 crores to be implemented on turnkey basis in the states of Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Goa, Orissa, Rajasthan, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal on behalf of State Utilities

Age Limitations:
Upper Age Limit as on 01.09.2008
Upper age limit is 28 years for Assistant Engineer and 27 years for Junior Engineer

Selection Process:
Candidates meeting the advertised criteria for the post mentioned above shall be shortlisted for Interview. Candidates shall have the option to appear for Interview in Hindi or English. Candidates will have to qualify in the Interview to be adjudged suitable for empanelment for Appointment. The Offer of Appointment shall be issued to the suitable candidates in the order of merit and based on the number of vacancies. However the final appointment of selected candidates will be subject to candidates being found medically fit in the Pre-Employment Medical Examination to be conducted as per the Norms and Standards of Medical Fitness.

Candidates should register themselves for interview at one location only. Multiple registration, if any, shall be summarily rejected.
