Boolean Algebra and Introduction to 8086/8088: Algebra Rules and
DeMorgans rules, Simplifications of equation – simple equations. Logic
Circuits – AND, OR, NAND, NOR, Exclusive OR and NOR. Truth Tables,
Gated flip-flops, Registers, Accumulators, Microprocessors – architecture

Robbin, Priority based, Memory management – segmentation, paging, virtual
MEMORY. 1-o MANAGEMENT – CONCEPT OF 1-o PORT. File
Management – FAT, file handling functions. Software and Hardware
interrupts, I/O and Memory base address, DMA channels, Broad view of
Operations Systems, MS-DOS, UNIX, MSWINDOWS 95.
File: Concept of file organization and accessing techniques – Indexed, Line
sequential, Hashed. File handling functions: Sorting, Merging, Indexing,
Updating. Instructions and Addressing Techniques: Instruction execution
cycle, Direct, Indirect, Relative, Paging, Indexed.
Concepts of Networking and data Communication: Introduction to LAN and
Basic Communication concepts. OSI 7 layer, Topologies, Protocols, Ethernet,
Arcnet, TCP/IP Introduction to Virus and Vaccines, Applications, DTP, e-mail
and Internet.
