ABOUT THE SYMPOSIUM:
The XVIth National Symposium on Ultrasonics, NSU-XVI was organized at STIC, Cochin University of Science and Technology, Cochin. From picturesque beauty of backwaters to the famous ancient city of Varanasi is the destination for the Seventeenth National Symposium on Ultrasonics, NSU-XVII. AIM of the conference is to provide a common platform to scientists/technologists working in various sub-disciplines of the fast expanding and applied subject of the ultrasonics. This would help in developing a greater mutual appreciation of related disciplines apart from the state?of-art exposure in the areas of direct interest of different participants. Such interaction would help in the evolution of inter-disciplinary, inter-institutional programs.
Climate: During first week of December nights are cold and day time is pleasant with approx. temp. 26 0C ( light warm clothing is required during night).

SYMPOSIUM VENUE:
Swatantrata Bhawan, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi
The Symposium will be held during December 04-06, 2008 at Swatantrata Bhawan, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi - 221 005, India, which is a state-of-art lecture hall complex with two lecture halls and one auditorium having capacity to accommodate more than 1000 persons. Swatantrata Bhawan is at a walking distance from the Department of Physics, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. It is about 20 minutes walk from the main gate of the University.
