The distance Learning course in Guwahati University for Masters course and post graduate courses.
The MA/MSc/MCom Programme under Institute of Distance and Open Learning, Gauhati University shall be of two years duration (two academic years) and divided into two parts viz. Previous and Final year.
Eligible candidates may apply in the prescribed forms provided by the IDOL, G.U. along with copies of the mark sheets/certificates of the qualifying examinations and the requisite course Fee in the form of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of Institute of Distance and Open Learning, Gauhati University.
After scrutiny of the application form and the necessary testimonials, eligible candidates will be provisionally admitted to the course and Roll no will be issued.
Provisionally admitted students are required to produce their original mark sheets of the qualifying examinations for verification at the IDOL, G.U. office before they appear in the examination.
The entire procedure of Admission could be completed by correspondence, except production of original mark sheets. Candidates are strongly advised not to send original mark sheets by post.
Single Window Admission Process
Admissions of eligible candidates may be done on the spot on production of original mark sheets and certificates. Candidate or their representatives along with necessary documents and the requisite course fee as mentioned above may personally visit the Admission Counter at the IDOL office, Gauhati University campus or any of the approved contact centres and get themselves admitted on the spot.
The Course Fee may be deposited either in cash at the State Bank of India, Gauhati University branch by IDOL Pay-in slip.
In the form of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of Institute of Distance and Open Learning, Gauhati University.
The last date for admission is September 30, 2008.
The Candidates admitted after the last date will be levied a Late Fee of Rs. 200/(Rupees two hundred only).
The final date of Admission with Late Fee of Rs. 200/-is November 30, 2008.
The Candidates admitted after 30th November will be levied a Late Fee of Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred Only).
The Final date of Admission with Late Fee of Rs. 500/- is December 31, 2008.
For M.A./M.Sc/M.Com Course................
The MA/MSc courses in Assamese, Bengali, English, Economics, History, Political Science, Philosophy, Mathematics, Bodo & M.Com are open to any graduate of recognized Indian or Foreign Universities having the relevant subject at degree level.
For Post Graduate Diploma Programmes
The Post Graduate Diploma Programmes under IDOL, GU are open to any graduate from any recognized Indian or Foreign Universities/Institutes in any stream. Candidates who are pursuing another degree course in this University are also eligible for simultaneous admission.
For Master in Communication & Journalism(MCJ)/P.G. Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication(PGDJMC)
1. Graduate from any recognised university of India or a foreign university will be admitted into the Previous module of the Master of Communication & journalism(MCJ) course.
2. Graduate with the Bachelor of Communication & Journalism (BCJ) degree of Gauhati University or PGDJMC under IDOL,GU may be admitted for the courses of Previous Module or allowed lateral entry into the Final Module directly.
PROCESS OF APPLY..........
Application Forms and Prospectus may be obtained from the IDOL, GU office or from any of the approved Contact Centres on payment of Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred only).
Application Forms and Prospectus may also be obtained by Registered post by sending a Demand Draft for Rs. 150/- (Rupees one hundred fifty only) drawn in favour of Institute of Distance and Open Learning, Gauhati University.
The Application Form can also be downloaded from the IDOL website www.pgcsgu.org. However, application in downloaded forms must accompany a Demand Draft of Rs. 100/- in favour of IDOL, GU towards the cost of Prospectus/ processing fee.
Marksheets & Testimonials Required for Admission:..............
* Attested copies of degree Mark sheets
* Attested copy of the HSLC certificate/admit card or any certificate for verification of the date of birth.
* Attested copy of the G.U Registration Certificate (for the graduates of G.U only).
* Two copies of recent passport size photographs signed by the candidate on the back side.

Refusal of Admission:...............
Notwithstanding any rules or procedure, a student may be refused admission if his/her past conduct in the university or in other universities has not been satisfactory.
A student who has been expelled/ rusticated or disqualified by this university or any other university may also be refused admission.

|i want to do LLB in distance mode. from where i can do the course. is there a chance in your university to do llb thro distance mode.|
