Applications are invited for registration to programmes leading to Ph. D./Vidyavaridhi Degree for January 2008 Semester in various disciplines in the Faculties of Arts, Social Sciences, Sanskrit Vidya Dharma Vigyan, Science, Commerce, Management Studies, Law, Agriculture, Education, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Engineering & Technology, Ayurveda, Dental Sciences and Medicine from candidates who are eligible for Direct Admission such as NET/GATE/SLET and other national level tests qualified, QIP, D.M./M.Ch., recipients of national fellowships, sponsored, foreign nationals, teachers, etc., provided the result of the qualifying examination and NET/GATE etc. is declared on or before 31.12.2007.
INFORMATION BULLETIN PLUS APPLICATION FORM can be obtained (Except Foreign Nationals) only from the ENTRANCE TEST CELL, OFFICE OF THE CONTROLLER OF EXAMINATIONS, BHU, VARANASI ? 221 005, either on cash payment of Rs. 250/- (Two Hundred Fifty Only) from 11 AM to 3 PM on working days OR by registered post by sending a written request mentioning: (a) Full name of the applicant (in Capital letters) (b) Complete postal address along with Telephone no., if any (c) Complete details of the MICR Demand Draft along with : (i) A crossed MICR Demand Draft issued by any Nationalised/Scheduled Bank for Rs. 300/- (Three hundred only) in favour of the CONTROLLER OF EXAMINATIONS, BANARAS HINDU UNIVERSITY, payable at Varanasi, indicating name and discipline on its reverse and (ii) A self-addressed envelope of the size 32cm. X 26cm. without postal stamps superscribed ?Application for Ph. D.? as per the schedule given hereunder.
Foreign Nationals are requested to collect their Application Forms along with Information Bulletin from the Office of the International Students Centre, C/3/3, Tagore House, Opposite to the Office of the Medical Superintendent, S. S. Hospital, Banaras Hindu University.
IMPORTANT DATES FOR SALE AND RECEIPT OF APPLICATION FORM:
Commencement of Sale of Forms: 03-12-2007, Last Date for (i) Receipt of Postal Requisition for Forms: 13-12-2007, (ii) Sale of Forms from Counter : 26-12-2007, & (iii) Receipt of Completed Forms (by hand or post) : 27-12-2007.
NOTE: (i) Reservation for SC/ST and Physically Challenged candidates will be as per Government of India rules. (ii) Only MICR Demand Draft is acceptable. (iii) The University shall not be responsible on any ground whatsoever for postal delays or non-delivery of post. (iv) Incomplete Application Form, not properly documented and received after the prescribed last date shall not be accepted. (v) There will be no registration in the Departments of Swasthavritta & Yoga, Marathi, Kannada, Library & Information Science, Hindi, Samhita & Sanskrit, Physiology and Urology (I.M.S.) for January 2008 Semester. (vi) The details of Direct Admission, area of research, eligibility requirements, list of allied subjects for research, etc. will be available in the Information Bulletin and on our website www.bhu.ac.in.
