Family picnic at Fort Radisson, Raichak Kolkata

We were quite anxious to get to the venue and have a good time. Though it was wet and cold in Kolkata but even the awful weather could not dampen the spirits of us. The resort is situated on the banks of river Hooghly. The resort is almost 90 minutes away from main Kolkata (Esplanade) and about 2.30 hrs away from the airport. We opted to go by bus. The journey to Fort Radisson was estimated at two and half hours.
We reached our destination two and a half hours later as estimated. Fort Radisson resembles an old fort and is an example of fine architectural design. The hotel is spread over 60 acres of lush green lawns, a swimming pool and overlooks of a river. The mere sight of it made us feel that had it not been that wet and dreary, we could have had a nice time outdoors. Watching the children playing there, seniors naturally will begin feeling nostalgic and reminisce about their childhood days.

Indoor games had the children bowling balloons and playing dumb charades. Soon it was time for lunch, and there was a lavish spread at the buffet organized for all. Everyone feasted on the pulao, naans, famous Indian curries and sweets. After lunch, there were more games organized. At evening we were served with some hot tea & snacks to refresh.

Finally, our day came to an end and we left the place hoping to visit once again when the weather slightly more favoring.
