Mango- The ‘King of Fruits’.



Mango contains following nutrients, vitamins and is useful for -

• Rich in iron, mango corrects anaemia by increasing hemoglobin. Pregnant women as well as people suffering from anaemia should eat mango.

• Vitamin E is essential for healthy sperm production and healthy sex life.

• Constipation as it contains fibres.

• Morning Sickness

• Piles

• Eye Disorders as it has Vitamin A

• Hair Loss

• Menstrual Disorders

• People in India, brush their teeth with mango twigs

• Mangiferin is seen in the stem bark of the mango tree. It has immunomodulatory action ( means it changes the immunity -protective system- of body). Thus it stops tumor growth and is useful in cancer Rx.

• A phenolic compound in mango has antioxidant and anticancer properties

• Its a good tenderizing agent.

• Vitamin A (beta-carotene), vitamin E and selenium hold great nutritional value.

• Fiber - 2- 3 g

• Vitamin A - 6400 IU

• Vitamin C - 45 mg

• Cholesterol - 0 g

• Saturated fat - 0 g

• Potassium - 0 g

• Burning of mango wood, leaves and debris is not advized. Toxic fumes are released. These can cause serious irritation to eyes and lungs, causing redness, watering and itching of eyes..

. Mango is seen in many parts of the tropical and sub-tropical world.

. “Devgad Hapoos Alphonso mango” is a variety of mango from Konkan, Maharashtra which is very famous and exported.
