my interview with caritor
|
Hai friends,
Now I am going to share my interview experience in caritor with all of you. Hope this will heip you…
Since I registered myself in many job portals one of them informed me that CARITOR is conducting a recruitment drive on June 14th 2008 for the post of “SOFTWARE ENGINEER”.I attended this interview while I was working as a software trainee in infotech, ernakulam, and I came to know about this recruitment only a week before that date so I suddenly took a leave from my present office…
As every one know that CARITOR is one of the MNC in the IT world and I went to this company because its salary was very good compared to the current one and growth opportunities together with the working environment were are also good in this company. And i had all the skills which were required for this position.
Here is summary of my interview with CARITOR
Skills --- engineering in IT/ CS and Fluency in English.
Academic record—an aggregate of 60% with no supply
Location --- all over India
Position --- SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Salary --- Rs.20000/-
Shift --- Day shift
Dress code --- not specified
here is the process of my interview in CARITOR----------
I live in ernakulam because it was my working place during that time and I went to thiruvananthapuram by train. It took hardly 4hrs to reach the thiruvananthapuram railway station and from there it took 1hr to reach the destination by bus .the drive had been conducted in an engineering college, thiruvananthapuram.
I reached there at 10 A.M sharply, when I entered into the company's office, on the gate I was asked to sign there, so i signed there and then they gave me a identity card, then i went to the reception and I was shocked by seeing the crowd there. All had come for the same purpose only… Then one of the member of the company came there and collected our resume, there were 150 candidates. After collection of our resumes, we were asked to move to a room where a session is being going and it was a small program in which the CEO of the company gave us a few words about their company and the procedure of the selection of candidates… it mainly says that the selection includes four rounds and they are aptitude test, gd, hr and tech rounds.. By 10.45 the session was over and we moved onto another room where the test is going to get start…..
Round 1: aptitude test By sharp 11am the test started… They gave all of us a question paper, in which there were 4 sections, -- English, logical-reasoning, grammar and attitude. They gave us 1 hour complete this. I completed this test in 1 hour and submitted them. by 12 the test was over and they said us to wait. And the result was published on sharp 12 .30pm and the list consists of only 30 names and I was really shocked to see my name among the 30 namess…
And we were asked to have our food and report there sharp by 1.45pm for the next round .by that time we had our food and got a little time for relaxation. by 2pm the next round started
Round 2: Group Discussion
There were 2 groups in the gd (15 members each) And I was in the second group. The topic for my gd was-“brain drain in India- favourable or unfavourable”. It was quite easier for me and I supported that it is never favourable based on the following points
Brain drain is a severe loss due to the emigration of highly talented peoples to other parts of the world.the knowledge that those young brilliant people gain overseas will be very helpful if they choose in a later phase to go back as well as settle down or engage in their country. so it should be prevented for the development of our nation
Round 3: technical interview The main questions involved in this section are
1:Difference between c++ and java Ans: in java pointers are not used nor does it support operator overloading but c++ uses pointers as well as operator overloading..suddently second one came 2:What is ARQ? Ans:automatic repeat request
3:What is packet switching? In a Packet switched network all the transmitted data, are being sent in suitably-sized blocks, called packets
. 4:what will be the output #define SQR(x) x * x main() { printf("%d", 225/SQR(15)); } a. 1 b. 225 c. 15 d. none of the above Ans: b) 225
5: difference between tcp/ ip and udp protocol?
TCP is connection-oriented protocol; Data is read as a "stream," UDP is connectionless protocol, Packets are being sent
6: What is the difference between session and cookie?
The main difference between cookies and sessions is that cookies are stored in the user's browser, and sessions are not and they asked me to wait outsite for the result.. i was little tensed but ultimately selected....
Round 4: INTERVIEW WITH HR
Afterwaiting for three hours finally, HR came and they started calling candidates for personal interview. My number soon came and they called me for interview , I was very nervous , but the HR was very good , they made me feel comfortable, and went inside knocking.
Me: Good afternoon sir, May I come in?
HR: Yes , and be seated . Me: Thank you sir.
HR: So soumya r u tired for waiting long time?

HR: What is the meaning of your name?
Me: I told very clearly(They impressed) .
HR: Show your group work capability.
Me: I told about my project …and leadership on that project.
HR: Which quality of leader do you find in your self.
Me: I told and explain them about 10 leadership quality with example
HR: What is the crucial decision in your life that change your self?
Me: I told about my school life computer Education…and my interest on computer…… ….. HR: What is your weak points? Me: …… HR: What is your reaction when one rectify ur weak points? Me: ….. HR: How do you react when a misunderstanding is happened in a group work? Me: …… HR: give some example on you real life.. Me: ……. So many question on my daily life…. HR: what is your best subject? Me: Physics. HR: Tell me about Black Hole. Me: give a cleared ideas.(they impressed) Hr: Tell something on current Computer related physics. Me: I told them the use of quantum theory on 6th generation computer. Actually I heard it from a seminar. HR: (they are really too much hearing these and encouraged me to join all the seminars) … …. HR: So Soumya nice interview with you. Me: Its my pleasure. Result: I was too much tensed. But ultimately selected….
