Interview Experience at Cellnext Solutions Pvt Ltd
|
Hi all,
I am a fresh MBA graduate specialized in Marketing.
I am searching for a job and attending interviews for the same.
Recently, I went to this company named Cellnext Solutions in Mumbai.
I would like to share my experience with them.
The company is located in the posh locality off Worli.
I stay far away from that place so I took the pains of reaching the place in scorching heat.
Anyways, I reached the place somehow and managed to spot the office.
As I went to the reception I inquired if I was a the right place.
The person at the reception seemed at a loss for a minute. But soon realized why I was there and directed me towards a cubicle.
As I approached the place, two clumsily seated people. I told them that I was there for an interview.
One of the persons asked me to wait at the reception.
So, I walked all the way back to the reception.
I sat there and waited for around 30 mins.
Meanwhile, four other candidates had come with the same objective.
Now there were 5 of us.
Finally, a person from the company approached us and asked for our resumes.
I handed it over to him and he went inside.
After about another 30 mins, the another person arrived a piece of paper which somewhat looked like a form, but anything on it was hardly legible.
I strained my eyes to read it, and started to fill it.
Somehow I completed the form and handed it over to the person, who had by now asked us several times, if we had completed.
After collecting the forms from all the candidates, he went inside.
We waited for another 30-35 mins, and this person returned and asked me to come inside. I was the first to be called.
As I followed the person, I tried to have a look around the office.
The place was big and well decorated with paintings and sculptures.
I was asked to go inside a small cabin. As I went inside, there were two persons seated, one was around 35 40 years old and other was around 28-30 years of age.
As I sat in front of them, they started with the usual 'tell us about yourself'.
I could make out from their attire and their English, that, they were definitely not high designation holders. Still as I was already there, I started answering.
I can say that my accent was far better than them.
After a few questions about my interests, project work etc. I was told to wait at the reception again.
Since I was already disappointed with the quality of interview that was conducted, I wait there half heartedly to hear the result.
After a few minutes, a person came out and asked in to come inside.
There was another person seated at a table and asked me to join him.
I sat, and the person next to me congratulated me on being selected.
I was shocked and didn't know how to react, as I expected a few more rounds to happen.
But still, I thanked him and then he started explaining me the salary structure.
The salary that was being offered was half of my minimum expectations.
I listened to him patiently and asked a few questions about increment, growth and incentives.
Even the incentives being offered were below industry average.
I couldn't have done a job for peanuts, so , finally refused the job and left the place.
I was dissapointed and angry with myself for wasting my time.
This was my experince.
I would like to suggest to job hunters that whenever you go to any company, please have a clear idea about the company, the job profile being offered and if possible the compensation package being offered.
At least it will prevent you from traveling down to the place and getting disappointed.
Also I would like to sugggest the companies which invite candidates for interviews to have a clear idea of what they want and whom they want.
If they call MBA's for interviews from good reputed institutes then they should pay them accordingly, be it recession or otherwise.
They should at least take the pains of reading the resumes before sending invitations.
Anyways, I hope my experience will help a lot of people.
All the best for your career!!!
