Tuljapur : Shree Tuljabhavani Mandir

Tuljapur , A holy place where Shree tuljabhavani resides.
Tuljapur is a Taluka Place belongs to district osmanabad.There is a Famous temple of Goddess Bhavani. Many people call as Tulja Bhavani . Tuljabhavani is treated as 'Kuldaivat' of Maharashtra.Shree tuljabhavani mata was the family deity of the Shivaji raje Bhonsale clan.This ancient temple is situated in Balaghat Range Hills.
Temple is situated in a very big area. To get in mandir you have to go down many steps and then you will enter in main area. After entering in main hall you will see idol of Tulja Bhavani.
The image of Bhavani is three foot high made of granite.
The idol worshipped has eight arms holding weapons, bearing the head of the slain. This image is supposed to be swayambhu'-selfborn, created without the medium of human agency.
In temple you will notice nice art work on walls and different sculptures.
Priest says that this temple is 12oo years ago. In old days it was called as Madhuban. For past many centuries Mata Tuljabhavani blessing his Devotees.

Apart from main Temple there are many small temples around Tuljabhavani Mandir, but very less people know about these places. Some of are as follows:
Shri papnas Mandir, Shri mudguleshwar mandir, Ghatshil,Ramvardayani, Nagoba Mandir , Motizara.
All mentioned places are near Tuljapur (with in 5 Km ). all are related to history of mata tuljabhavani.

How to reach :


By Bus: The pilgrims coming from the northern part and the western part of the country usually come to Solapur, a place about 44 KM.
The pilgrims coming from the southern part of the country, who are traveling by bus usually come to Naldurg a place located about 35 KM from Tuljapur.
The pilgrims coming from eastern part of the country usually come to Nagpur about 560 KM from Tuljapur or Latur a place about 75 KM from Tuljapur.


By Train: The pilgrims visiting Tuljapur by train must come to Solapur, the nearest railway station from Tuljapur. Solapur is about 44 KM from Tuljapur.
Osmanabad is also a nearest railway station but frequency of trains is very low.
By Air:
The pilgrims who would like to come by air must come to Pune the nearest airport from Tuljapur or to Hyderabad from there one can come to Tuljapur either by train or by bus.

Accommodation: You will find accommodation from mandir trust or Maharashtra tourism. Private Lodge also (AC/Non AC) available.
