Application in prescribed forms are invited for admission to the following courses of study in Assam University,
Silchar for the academic session commencing from July 2009.
B.Tech Courses
4 year B.Tech Degree Course in (i) Agricultural Engineering, (ii) Information Technology. The admission will be done through AIEEE central counselling only.
Intending candidates may collect admission Prospectus-cum application form for the desired course(s) in person on payment of (a) Rs. 220/- (Two hundred twenty) for the courses under Prospectus – A. and Rs. 400/ - (Four hundred only) for the course under Prospectus – C from the Assam University Cash Counter at Silchar Head Quarter and Diphu Campus on working days upto 2 P.M. Prospectus can also be collected on payment of Rs. 30/- (Thirty) additional as service charge from the Head Post Offices at Silchar, Hailakandi, Karimganj, Badarpur, Patharkandi, Haflong, Diphu, Guwahati, Nagoan, Jorhat, Imphal, Dimapur, Aizwal, Shillong, Agartala, Dharmanagar, Siliguri, Kolkata GPO, and Burdwan.
The form may also be downloaded from the website http://www.assamuniversity.nic.in and submitted along with demand draft in favour of Finance Officer, Assam University, Silchar, payable at SBI, NIT Branch, Silchar or UCO Bank of Assam University Branch, Silchar, being cost of prospectus and application fee. The candidates who have appeared in TDC Part III examination 2009 of Assam University or any other university may also submit application for admission into PG Courses.
The prospectus may be collected from the above sources from 21st May to 15th June 2009. Separate application should be submitted for each course. The admission prospectus-B for B Tech course will be made available to the candidates who will be issued allotment letter by AIEEE Central Counseling in due course of time from the University Cash Counter on payment of Rs 350.00
The candidates within geographical jurisdiction of Assam University may submit their dully filled in application form in boxes placed at the Raja Rammohan Roy Administrative Building Assam University, Silchar and Administrative Office, Diphu Campus or at the office of the GC College, Silchar, Karimganj College, Karimganj, SS College, Hailakandi, Haflong Govt. College, Haflong upto 16th June 2009. Applicants may also send their applications by post, addressed to Registrar, Assam University, Silchar 788011. The envelop should be super scribed as APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION.
Last date for submission of duly filled in application form: (a) for MBA course:19th June 2009 for other courses 16th June 2009
Admission test centers: Assam University, Silchar HQ, Assam University Diphu Campus. There may be admission test centers at Dharmanagar, Agartala, Kolkata, Siliguri, Burdwan, Shillong , Imphal depending upon the number of candidates opted for appearing in a particular centre. However, admission test for Social Work, Computer Science, BALLB (Hons), B. Tech, MBA, will be conducted at Silchar HQ only. For details candidates may visit our website.
Reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC/PWD will be made as per GOI rules.
Prospectus along with admission form for M Phil courses will be available in the month of November 2009. Admission forms for Ph D programme will be available by July 2009.
