Speak of fashion and one cannot avoid the name of France. The Institut Francais De La Mode (IFM) is one of the premiere institutes in France, which specialises in fashion designing. Established in 1986 in Paris, the institute is recognised worldwide.
Academics
IFM offer seperate programmes in fashion and management. The management courses are aimed at students and professionals in the fashion and design sector. It helps in gaining deeper knowledge in fashion, textiles, luxury goods, accessories, perfumes, cosmetics and interior decoration. The fashion course is aimed at the future designers to meet their creative and industrial needs.
Admission
IFM is famous for the postgraduate programme in International Fashion Design. Applicants must have an undergraduate level diploma in fashion design (Bachelor of Arts or the equivalent in accordance with international standards). As the course is entirely in English, fluency in the language is a must. The duration of the course is one year.
Cost and Scholarships
There are study grants given to students, which can reduce the course fees by 10% to a maximum of 90%. Tuition fees are 9500 Euros per year that covers academic and company tours. Students can opt for internships.
Accommodation
As Nusrat Hossain, counsellor, CampusFrance, says,“There are no exclusive residential places for students which are maintained by the institute authorities. The students accommodate themselves either in private houses or joint housings.”
