This topic should not have been posted under"Computer & Technology"Having said that since it required a response i am posting it here.I would request somebody to move both the topic and response to another more appropriate head.RESPONSE:---First of all,you will have to increase traffic to your site and then gradually build up links.Simply increasing your links is not going to help the popularity or rankings of your site. Here's how you go about it--Try and register a domain name with the exact keyword phrase you wish to target or in case you are going to start a blog make sure your keyword is included in name of the blog. This will get you going faster towards a page rank.If you can join Google AdWords.Run a targetted campaign pointing to your website.Or use these free methods:2.Use these to ping your blog:Pingomatic.com 3.PINGOAT.4.GO TO>>ADDME.com for free submission to 14 search engines.5.Open a feedburner account. It is free.6.Add your blogs feed to your own "My Yahoo" account.for your blogs to be indexed by Yahoo. 7.Add to directores listed at RSS Feeds directory. 8.Add your blog to your own "My MSN" account for listing in Msn. 9.Sign up for google pages, write a rich original content, and link to your blog. This will help you listed in google. 10.Use "SubmitExpress" to submit to top 20 Search engines. 11.Go to blogs which have high traffic but with like content as your own and place relevant comments in their comment box.Refrain from asking them to visit your site.Post relevant useful comments. 12.If you are a member of any forum place a link to your blog under your signature.13.Join group discussions such as this one and place relevant comments.14..All these will work on a sustained basis only if youe site has original rich and useful content.Other wise you will get only one time visitors. Interlink all your important web pages within your sites. This will get you a good page rank within each web site. Build smaller web sites with content related to your main site with few pages., Then link them all together using the major keywords.Include links pointing back to the main site. Visit your competitors site.Find out who is linking to that site. Then dash off email requesting them to link to your site. This will improve your backlinks if they agree. So again a better page rank for your site. To find out which sites are linking to your competitors, search for ---"link:competitors domain name". Submit your sites to major directories such as Yahoo.Add your URL to Google for your site to be indexed.Search for "add site"to find other SE to which you can submit. In your META tag avoid these--,.&,and,or,etc,of,on,it.This will enhance the speed and relevancy of search results when visitors punch in your keywords. Including a site map with links to all your pages will enable S-engines in finding and indexing all pages of your site. It will pay to keep your links on a page to under fifty. If you have more than the specified links, it is better to limit your links to important pages. Avoid too small a text size(Font size 1) as the default text size. Many S-engines cannot decipher it and may consider it as an attempt to fool them and so your rankings could drop.Use a reasonable size. Link farms are to be avoided as it is considered as "bad neighborhood".Your rankings could take a nose dive if you link to them.Them linking to you is ok as you do not have control over who links to you, except in case of a reciprocal link. Do not stuff your pages with keywords over and over again,as it is considered spam by the engines. Write content between 350-750 words in each page, preferably focussing on a single topic, particularly if you are running adsense or any other contextual ads.Focusing on a single topic on a page will let you get high paying relevant targeted ads based on your keywords for that topic.NOTE:LOOKS LIKE DMOZ.ORG HAS LOST IT'S IMPORTANCE AND IS BEING SIDELINED BY GOOGLE AND WILL BE JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE OTHERS FOLLOW SUIT.Search Engine Land reports that DMOZ is no longer showing up in search results for keywords [dmoz], [www.dmoz.org], [open directory] or [open directory project]. Pages from subdirectories and several folders deep (and the ‘unavailable’ page) still show up in search results, however, the root page does not.
