Currently business organizations all over the world increasingly rely on effective supply chains and networks to successfully compete in the global market and networked economy. Also the concept of business relationships extends beyond traditional enterprise boundaries and seeks to organize entire business processes throughout a value chain of multiple companies. - Management's New Paradigms by Peter Drucker's (1998) And the changes in the 21st century namely; globalization and proliferation of multi-national companies, joint ventures, strategic alliances and business partnerships followed the earlier practices of "Just-In-Time", "Lean Management" and "Agile Manufacturing" neccessiated the development of supply chain networks and their management. Further enabled by Technological changes, particularly the dramatic fall in information technology costs, a important component of transaction costs.
