1.IT IS ADVISABLE TO WORK ELECTRIC APPLIANCES WHEN THEY ARE PROPERLY EARTHED .WHY?
In case of short circuit ,the current will pass into the earth without causing any damage to the electric appliance when they are properly earthed.


2.A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF CALCIUM SHOULD BE NECESSARY COMPOUND OF OUR FOOD .WHY?
Calcium is an essential compound of bones and teeth .So calcium must be an essential compound of our food.

3.WHY DOES ONE LEAN FORWARD WHILE CLIMBING A HILL?
While leaning forward the centre of gravity of the body also shifts forward and this helps in climbing.

4.WHY DOES AN ELECTRICAL BULB BANG WHEN IT IS BROKEN?
Inside the bulb is the partial vacuum.When it broken the air rushes into it to fill the vacuum and hence the noise is produced.

5.WHY DOES ICE WRAPPED IN A BLANKET NOT MELT AWAY QUICKLY?
as the blanket is a bad conductor of heat it cuts away all heat rays.So ice wrapped in a blanket does not melt quickly.

6.WHY COPPER WIRE IS NOT USED AS HEATING ELEMENT IN ELECTRIC HEATERS?
Copper melts at about 1000 degree celsius and reacts with air to form a black powder.

7.WHY SEA WATER IS SALINE?
The river water brings salts in its course which makes the sea water saline.

8.WHY IT TAKES LESS TIME TO COOK IN A PRESSURE COOKER THAN IN AN ORDINARY VESSEL?
The increased pressure inside the pressure cooker raises the boiling point and so the food stuffs are cooked easier.

9.HOW DOES THE BLOTTING PAPER ABSORB INK?
The blotting paper has a number of pores.The ink is sucked into these pores by virtue of surface tension.

10.WHY MOON HAS NO ATMOSPHERE?
The gases released by the crust of the moon rapidly escapes into the interplanetary system.
