products of world today,are restricting the export of oil.
In a country like India with no enough oil fields to meet our needs.The only available solution to solve this increasing problem is to rely on Synthetic petrol.
The synthetic methods of preparation of petrol is particularly important for countries with meagre oil resources as they have to depend on large scale imports of crude oil or petrol.From the national security point of view there are many disadvantages in being dependent on imports for an vital commodity like oil,during wars.It was for the reasons that chemists in various countries started exploring methods of preparing synthetic petrol.
Scientists identified that only coal has all these properties(C,H,O) and is available in India.We can count on our vast coal fields for a continuous supply of the synthetic petrol.Already the work on production of the fuel oil from the coal has progressed enough in countries like UK,Germany.
Quite a good amount of petrol is produced by synthetic process.One ton of soft coal produces 700 litres of petrol.The artificial petroleum so obtanied by synthetic process is separated by fractional distillation to get petrol.In USA ,the synthetic petrol is produced at a rate of Rs.9 per gallon.
As the price of natural petrol has now been skyrocketed and has become so scarce.it is hoped that many nations future will rely on this synthetic product to sustain their civilisation.
