sendmail configuration

# rpm -ivh url

# vi /etc/mail/sendmail.mc

# comment out DAEMONOPTIONS(smtp...) using dnl # & save file

# backup originals using
cp sendmail.mc sendmail.mc.orig
cp sendmail.conf sendmail.conf.orig

# generate sendmail.conf using
m4 sendmail.mc > sendmail.conf

# service sendmail restart

# configuration done

# check mail service using following steps
1)telnet 192.168.10.251 25

2)HELO username

3)MAIL FROM:useraddres like becse72@fs1.cseit.kitcoek.edu

4)RCPT TO:other useraddress

5)DATA enter ur data type '.' to end

6)quit

7)telnet 192.168.10.251

8)login

9)mail

10)give mail no and see it.

# service done
