Lok Sabha Secretariat - Recruitment - Junior Library Assistant

Applications are invited from eligible Indian citizens for the following posts in Lok Sabha Secretariat:

Junior Library Assistant

Parliamentary Reporter Grade-II (English/Hindi)

Junior Proof Reader

Eligibility for Junior Library Assistant:

Bachelor’s degree in Library Science from a recognised university. Desirable: Certificate in computer course recognised by AICTE/DOEACC or courses equivalent to 'O' Level in terms of syllabus and duration of course as prescribed by DOEACC.

Age Limit: Upper age limit is 27 years

No. of Vacancies: 19

Pay Scale: Rs. 9300-34800 (PB-2) + GRADE PAY: Rs. 4200

Eligibility for Parliamentary Reporter Grade-II (English/Hindi):

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university and possessing minimum shorthand speed of 160 words per minute (w.p.m.) in English/Hindi. Desirable: Certificate in computer course recognised by AICTE/DOEACC or courses equivalent to 'O' Level in terms of syllabus and duration of course as prescribed by DOEACC.

Note: In case sufficient number of candidates with requisite shorthand speed are not available, those with shorthand speed of 140 words per minute may be considered for appointment on the condition that they should qualify shorthand test at the speed of 160 words per minute within a year, failing which they will not be granted annual increment and their confirmation in the grade deferred.

Age Limit: Upper age limit is 27 years

No. of Vacancies: 21 (16 English and 5 Hindi)

Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 (PB-3) + GRADE PAY: Rs. 5400

Eligibility for Junior Proof Reader :

(i) Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university; and (ii) Diploma in Printing Technology or PG Diploma in Book Publishing from any Institute approved by AICTE OR 5 years experience as Copy Holder in English and Hindi in a Printing Press coming under the purview of Factories Act, 1948 as amended. Desirable: Certificate in computer course recognized by AICTE/ DOEACC or courses equivalent to 'O' Level in terms of syllabus and duration of course as prescribed by DOEACC.

Age Limit: Upper age limit is 32 years

No. of Vacancies: 18

Pay Scale: Rs. 5200-20200 (PB-1) + GRADE PAY: Rs. 2800

How to Apply:

Eligible candidates have to apply in typewritten form for the above posts, either in English or in Hindi, strictly in the prescribed format. The format of the application can be downloaded from the website http://www.loksabha.nic.in under the link ‘Secretariat’.

Candidates desirous of applying for more than one post should submit separate application form and fee for each post.

FEE:

A fee of Rs. 100/- (in the form of Indian Postal Order or Bank draft from any Scheduled Commercial Bank payable at State Bank of India, Sansadiya Soudha Branch, New Delhi in favour of Drawing and Disbursing Officer, Lok Sabha Secretariat) should be enclosed with the application form. The fee sent in any other form will not be accepted by the Joint Recruitment Cell and such applications will be treated invalid and will be summarily rejected. The fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances nor can the fee be held in reserve for any other examination or selection.

Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe, Physically Handicapped and Ex-Serviceman candidates are not required to pay the above fee. However, those Ex-Servicemen who have already taken up a Government job shall not be entitled for fee concession.

Candidates should send their application in an envelope superscribing clearly the name of he post applied for on the cover of the envelope.

Applicants must fill up all the columns of application form properly.
