Job Vacancies at Indian Air Force


Job profile: The candidates will be absorbed as engineers in the technical branch in which they will deal with the air crafts and related equipment. They will be responsible for the maintenance, repair design and overhauling of the air planes and the equipments. They will be required to take care of both interior and exterior of the air crafts.

Eligibility: Only an Indian citizen can apply. The age of a candidate must be between 18 and 28 years as on 1s July 2010. The minimum height required is 157.5 centimeters in case of males and 152 in case of females.

Educational qualifications: A candidate must have a BE/B.TECH in Electrical/mechanical, aeronautical/electronics/production/telecommunications/computer science/ IT/instrumentation/radio physics/optics and opto electronics OR an MSc degree in physics (with electronics)/electronics/computer science OR an MCA with mathematics, physics and electronics at graduation level OR an MSc tech in electronics and radio engineering OR a diploma in electronics from Madras institute of technology OR section A&am p;B of the associate membership exam of institute of engineers in mechanical/aeronautical subjects OR section A&B of exam of aeronautical society of India in avionics/communication stream OR section A&B of the graduate membership exam of institute of electronics and telecommunication engineers.

No. of posts: The no. of posts is not specified. It purely depends on the performance of an individual.

Pay scale: The candidates will undergo a one year training commencing in July 2010. After successful completion of their training they will be given a pay scale of Rs15600-39100 plus other allowances.

Selection procedure: The candidates will have to appear for a written test. The qualified candidates will be called for SSB interviews at any one of the selection boards.

How to apply: The candidates have to send the applications as per the format given in the advertisement or on the website. They have to send two self addressed envelopes with a stamp of Rs27 pasted on each envelope and two unattested photographs. The candidates must write the course name applied for and the test centre opted for on the envelope containing the application.
The applications must be sent by ORDINARY POST only.

Last date for applying is 31st August 2009.
