Hi friends,
This article is for people who aspire to pursue education in overseas.Read on to get an overview on foreign education.

1.Selecting your CCC

Before making any move, first select your preferred course, college and country. There are lots of colleges across the globe offering foreign education. So appropriately choose them as per your needs. The entire details about the list of colleges and the courses they offer will be there in the Immigration department of respective country.Make a list of your favorite colleges taking into account certain aspects like quality of teaching, Assistance ship, Research facilities, campus records, course curriculum, financial aid, security, environment, lodging facilities etc.

2.Application procedure

Now comes the second phase. In general this phase starts 10 months before accepting applications. Most of the universities offer academic sessions twice a year.So It is better to pen down your plans as soon as you enter in to final year of your study.

3.Entrance exams

To pursue foreign education in countries like the US,UK,France,Australia etc, you have to get good score in TOEFL,GRE,IELTS,SAT etc.You need not write all these exams. The exam you write depends on the country you choose.Always go for the exams when you enter your final year of study because these exams are conducted more than once in a year.So even you get low scores at first, by the time of your admission, you will get a better score.

4.Sending letters to respective universities

After you select the universities, letters of admission have to be sent. These are readily available for download in their university websites. While filling the forms, don’t be hasty. There will be cut off scores (in GRE, TOEFL etc) for each university.Know them first.

6.Attachments

You should attach other documents along with the admission letter.Be cautious. If you miss even one document, your admission may be rejected without prior notice.Below are some of the documents:

a.Covering letter
This is the request you make to the university for admission in selected course.
b.Application fee
You have to enclose it in the form of cheque.
c.Statement of purpose
This enlists student’s personal details, Hobbies, goals etc. Also questions like how the course suits you? Should be answered. This is very crucial. It is similar to writing a resume. This document should highlight your strengths and confidence level.
d.Letter of Recommendation
You should get a letter of recommendation from any respectable person. This letter thereby declares your conduct and abilities.
e.Essays
Some universities ask you to write essays on selected topics.
f.Certificates
Duplicates of all your academic certificates including extracurricular activities have to be enclosed. Also Scores of GRE,TOEFL should be attached.
g.Financial statement
During this recession period, universities are stressing a lot on the student’s financial statement. This will give them assurance on whether the student can complete the course without any arrears. On account of this, many universities are asking for a minimum bank balance of Rs 4 Lakhs. This figure may vary.

After the university accepts your application, it will send a letter of acknowledgment.Along with this, it may also send details like prerequisites for first semester, tuition fee and deposit. In general, this admission letter will be sent 2 months before the commencement of first semester. So you will have ample time to make your preparation arrangements.

Universities also prepare waiting list if they are unsure whether all the applied students will join or not.If the student accepts to be in waiting list, name will be written down.

Banks will offer loans to students pursuing higher education. But the student has to bear the first semester fee.Total reimbursement in fee will be done if this fee receipt is produced. Also students have to show collateral security in his name or in his parent’s name.

Please be cautious when you are going through a consultancy. There are fake consultancies in every nook and corner waiting to trap students. The best way is take the help of your seniors who are already pursuing abroad. This is the safest way.

In case of the US, it considers the academic record of 10+2+4.So it is better for students who finished their degree to do a diploma course.
