Recipe for Soya Curry




Today afternoon, I got a call from my neighbour, as she had tried out a new recipe. I am posting this here with her permission.

Ingredients:
Soya Balls (Especially the meal maker ones) - 1/4kg
Small Onions - 10 to 12
Tomato - 2 Medium sized
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
or
Ginger - 1/2 inch
Garlic - 4 flakes
Green Chilly - 1
Saunf - 1 tbsp
Cinnamon - 1 small piece
Bay leaf - 1
Instead of Saunf, Cinnamon and Bayleaf - 1 tsp of masala powder can also be used
Salt - to taste
Turmeric Powder - 1 Pinch
Chilli Powder - 1tbsp

Method:
In a dry pan, fry the soya balls for about a min or two. Remove from the pan and soak it in hot water till the balls become soft and tender. Cut them into small pieces. Add 1 tbsp of oil in the pan and fry the onions a little. Grind it along with tomato, chilly, ginger garlic paste (or ginger and garlic), turmeric powder, masala powder, chilly powder and salt. Soak the soya balls in this paste for almost half an hour.

Add little oil to the pan and fry the soya pieces. Remove from the kadai and decorate it with coriander leaves chopped finely.

The same method can be followed for making Baby Potatoes too. But while making baby potatoes, pressure cook it, peel the skin and soak it in the masla.
