Barnawa- Historical place of Mahabharta for Lakshagrah

Barnawa is a village in Meerut district. This is a place which has its own history and depicted very less. This place is the only viewer of the “Lakhsagraha Kaand” in Hindu Epic Mahabharata.
This place is supposed to be found by Raja Ahibarana Tomar in ancient past. This is situated on the bank of river Hindan with junction to Krishna river . In Epic Mahabharta this place was known as Varnavata and modified later to Barnawa. This village was also the Tehsil in the ruling of Begum Samru. After her death this village is made subsidiary to Baraut and then Sardhana constituency.
Places to visit :
This village has played a significant role in the history of Mahabharta. The main attraction of the village is the Lakhshagraha mount where Kauravas tried to burn Pandvas also known as Lakha Mandap to the local people. This is the place where one can even see the canal made by Pandavs to protect themselves from Kauravas. One can enjoy the tracks to ride on the small mount.
This mound is now having a well famous Sanskrit School where students comes across all over the India. This is a holy place where one can found sound and peace of mind. All the time one can hear the pravachan given by the Pandit Brahm Datt on this place and he is the one who is supposed to be ancestors belonged to Mahabharta History.
How To Reach:
This place is situated on Meerut - Baraut Road. From Meerut on can easily take the Bus to reach to the place and similarly from Baraut side.
This place just 36 KM from the Meerut and 28 KM from Baraut constituency.
