IIT-Guwahati prepares for its annual fest Alcheringa 2008

Come January 31 and IIT-Guwahati will kick off Alcheringa 2008, promising a wide array of events, pro-shows and loads of fun. What's more, this year's cultural festival (like all the previous editions) comes with a cause -- AIDS and the Gangetic Dolphin.
The event's two main attractions will be the pro-nites: Crescendo and Juggernaut. The hottest attraction of this year will be Indi-pop singer Shaan who will perform on February 3 for Crescendo.
Juggernaut, on February 2 will have on stage Mumbai rock band Pin Drop Violence.
This year's theme is Retro, and Alcheringa '08 provides visitors a fun opportunity to be transported back in time with almost all events staging a retro round and retro being incorporated into the smallest of details.
Apart from the pro-nights, Alcheringa will offer three different events for the performing arts, literary events, game shows and offstage games, Hot Couture, the fashion show and the rock competition Rock-o-Phonix.
