A :- Secondary storage devices are used to save backup nd even to trasport files consisting of data programs from one location or computer to another.

Secondary storage devices have been required to service much greater demand. Data storage has expanded from text and numeric files to include digital music files, photographs files video files ad much more.

An essential feature of every computer is the ability to save or store information. RAM is primary storage unfortunately most RAM provides only temporary or volatile storage. Secondary storage provides permanent or non-vilatile storage.

Using secondary storage devices such as a floppy disk drive data is the process of saving information to the secodary storage devices. Reading is the process of the accessing information from reading.

There are 4 basic types or devices of Storage devices.

  • Hard Disk
  • Optical Disk
  • Digital Versatile Disk.
