M.Tech in Microelectronics & VLSI Technology 2007-08


The West Bengal University of Technology is going to offer a full time post graduate (M.Tech) course in Microelectronics & VLSI Technology from the academic session 2007-08. The course is open to candidates who have Bachelor's Degree in Engineering & Technology in Electronics or Masters of Science (M.Sc) in Electronics, Physics (Electronics / Solid State Physics special) from any recognised University. Preference will be given to those having a valid GATE score.

The course is aimed at producing manpower for catering to the needs of academics and industries and providing an R&D support base for the emerging areas of VLSI designs and systems. The syllabus has been framed by taking inputs from similar existing courses offered in the Universities of first world countries and Industrial giants like INTEL. Besides the experienced in-house faculties, the University will invite experts in the field of Microelectronics & VLSI Technology to deliver course lectures and seminars. The University has a VLSI Design Lboratory complete with industrial TCAD tools from Synopsys, Cadence etc for design, synthesis, testing and verification. The University is developing a characterisation laboratory for testing testing of CMOS circuits. The University plans to tie up with state-of-the art laboratories for conducting specialised experiments.
