ADMISSIONS 2007-08 KUVEMPU UNIVERSITY

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to the Post
Graduate, P.G. Diploma and Certificate Courses of Kuvempu University and also for
the PG Courses offered by colleges coming under the jurisdiction of Kuvempu
University for the academic year 2007-08. Large number of innovative courses to suit
the requirements of the emerging society are being offered.
i) Add-on courses / dual degree: The candidate can pursue a PG Diploma/ Certificate
course simultaneously with PG Course being pursued by them.
ii) 5 year integrated courses after PUC/ 10+2: Five year integrated courses aim at
imparting high quality professional education leading to a graduate degree as well as
a PG Degree after completion of course. Candidate seeking admission to 5 year
integrated courses should have passed PUC or 10+2 or equivalent exam, with a
minimum of 45% marks in aggregate and 50% in cognate subjects. This is open to all
students.
iii) In case of M.Tech., MCA, & MBA the admission will be through CET conducted by
Visveswaraiah Technological University, Belagaum. However Kuvempu University will
conduct the admission test to fill the unfilled seats of V.T.U after obtaining permission from

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
1. Further details regarding eligibility conditions, details of courses, conduct of
entrance test, fee structures etc., can be obtained either from the Prospectus or
through the website http:\\www. kuvempu.ac.in
2. Reservations for different categories of candidates shall be as per the orders of the
Government prevailing at the time of admission.
3. Candidates who have appeared for final year degree examinations and awaiting
results can also apply for the above courses. However the marks cards should be
submitted two days before the date of counseling.
4. Admission is open to all courses to NRI’s and Foreign nationals (15% supernumerary
seats are enhanced).
5. The fee prescribed for the prospectus is Rs.300-00 for the first copy and Rs. 50-00 for
subsequent applications. A candidate is allowed to get only two additional

applications on payment of the prescribed fee. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/Cat-I
will be given concession of Rs.150-00 only at the time of admission.
6. Candidates seeking admission to M.Sc. Library & Information Science/ M.S.W./
M.A. (Journalism & Mass Communication), MBA/ MCA/ M.Tech. (Industrial
Mathematics & Computer Applications), MAF (Master of Accounting & Finance)
and M.Sc. (Hons.) Integrated Courses are required to enclose a D.D. for Rs.200-00
(General Category) and Rs.100-00 (SC/ST/Cat-I), towards the conduct of entrance
test, drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, Kuvempu University, Shankaraghatta.
7. Application form and Prospectus will be available from 23-07-2007 in the following
centers: State Bank of India, Shankaragatta / State Bank of Mysore, B.R.Project /
The Principal, Sahyadri Science College, Shimoga / The Principal, National College
of Law, Shimoga / The Principal UBDT College of Engineering, Davangere / The
Principal, Fine Arts College, Davangere / The Director, P.G. Centre, Tholahunase,
Shivagangotri, Davangere on payment of the prescribed fees.
8. a) The application form with Prospectus may also be obtained by post by sending a
D.D. for the prescribed fee in favour of The Finance Officer, Kuvempu
University payable at S.B.M. B.R.Project/ S.B.I. shankaraghatta along with a self
addressed envelope (22cm x 30cm) duly affixing postal stamps worth Rs.24-00
addressed to the Registrar, Kuvempu University, Jnana Sahyadri,
Shankaraghatta - 577451. The cover should be superscribed with “Application
for admission to……. . . . . . . . . . . course”. Prospectus Fee should be paid only in
the form of DD. (Money Order/ Postal Order/ Cheque etc., will not be accepted).
b) Information can also be downloaded from the website. Such candidates, should
obtain applications in duplicate from the University and send the filled in
application along with DD of Rs.300-00, and obtain a copy of Prospectus later.
9. Separate application should be submitted for each course. Application submitted for
one course will not be transferred to another course.
10. The candidates claiming seat under NSS/ NCC quota should enclose with the
application copies of all relevant certificates for verification and consideration of
merit.
11. Attested xerox copies of marks cards and other relevant certificates like caste
certificate, income certificate etc., must be enclosed wherever required.
12. The eligibility criteria and other conditions prevailing at the time of admission shall
be applicable for all admissions.
13. Application duly filled in duplicate along with all the relevant enclosures should
reach the following centers on or before 5.00 p.m. on 06-08-2007 However the last
date for submission of application and admission for NRIs, Foreign (15%
Supernumerary seats will be created) Nationals and Kashmiri migrants is 20-09-
2007 Applications received later will not be considered.
