Life is Good

Less than a month until Dan and Nicole's wedding! Yay!!! Dresses are almost done, Dan is almost here, all the final arrangements are falling into place. I'm SO EXCITED!! I drove up to West Branch last weekend for my 3rd fitting I'm about halfway done with making the candles for the centerpieces. Things are coming together!

I had a pretty emotional week two weeks ago and if I'd had time to write, I wouldn't have even known what to say. Yes, this is still all about babies. Brian and I got into a discussion two Thursdays ago and, as one might expect would happen to a couple, it turns out we weren't exactly on the same page about some things related to starting a family. What should have been a calm, rational discussion became less calm and less rational as the night went on. Things were said, feelings were hurt.

But, we moved on from there. We've talked and made more of a plan for things then before. Yes....even more planning. Some of our friends have seen the planning we've done up to this point and are astounded that we're still planning yet more things as part of the bigger baby picture. But, yes, we're still getting things ready. The latest project is possibly new living room furniture and finally finishing the dining room that we started repairing last summer. Are we over thinking this? To some extent I'm sure we are. I asked a woman at church that I really look up to if Brian and I were robbing ourselves of some of the joy that goes into starting a family. Especially considering most couples our age don't plan at all, let alone this much. She told me not to worry about that because there's no way that the planning can lessen the joy of having a child once that process starts. That gave me a lot of comfort and helped me to be patient a little longer for Brian's sake.

So, other than that...life is still work and home and church and getting ready for the wedding. Life is good.
