Hello ISC , Today when the cricketing tournaments are going bigger and bigger as the Champions league is going to be a 6 milliom trophy , now the scenario is different and there is a hope that the T 20 format might be there in 2012 London Olympics. For the past 100 years the game was not included in the olympics except in 1900 Paris Olympics.That was the first and last Olympics when Cricket was included or i should cricket got a chance to be seen in Olympics. In that event there were 4 teams that were eventually named to ake part in the Prestigious tournament and these teams were: 1)Great Britan 2)Netherland 3)Belgium 4)France But later Netherland and Belgium withdrew from the event and only two countries partcipated took an active participation in the event. Apart from this there was one more problem that neither France nor Great Britian had a national cricket team at that time and so they asked the various cricket playing clubs to form a national team and compete in the tournament. Devon and Somerset Wanderers club represented Great Briitan and French Athletic Club and Union club represents France and the match includes 12 players per team. It was a 2 day game played at Vélodrome de Vincennes on 19th August 1900 Scorecard: A.)First innings: Devon and Somerset Wanderers:117 all out French Athletic Club Union: 78 all out B.)Second Innings: Devon and Somerset Wanderers:145/5 declare Target: 185 French Athletic Club Union: 26 all out And that was the only cricket match played in Olympics. There are very great hopes from all over the world and cricketing fans that this game should be included in the OLYMPICS and i think this will be done as a knockout tornament between the worlds top 8 teams.
