Hello ISC,
Todays biggest question in a nation where Cricket is a religion and the same nation is out of an event in which worlds top teams are participating is that what went wrong with TEAM INDIA in the recent ICC Champions Trophy 2009.
India is the only nation in the whole of he world who has won all the forms of World Cup that are organised and in which all the top teams of the world has participated.Whether it's going to be World Cup in 1973 or Champions Trophy in 2002 or the T-20 World Cup in 2007.India was a champion every where.
The recent form of India also suggested that India was one of the top contender for Winning this year's Champions trophy but the disaster happened when India dint even managed to reach the Semi Finals and lost in the league only.
The same happened to India when we got out of the T-20 World Cup 2009,where our performance was not as that of the defending champion would have been.
According to me Team India is the best team when it comes to handle a single team or two teams in a tournament but when it comes to an International Level big games and big tournaments where India takes on some of the finest cricketing playing nations then the performance mainly goes down.
Sometimes it the Batting that is not working for team India and for that we lose the match when a small total is against us to chase.
Sometimes its the Bowling department that is being hammered and sometimes the Poor Fielding is seen by the team players.i dont know what actually happens to the players when it comes to a big event.
The same players plays extremely well when we are playing a tournament at home or away against a single nation or a tri series. They even chase a total that requires more than 6 runs per over and also are able to defemd a small total of 200 against the top nations in ICC Rattings.
Is this the time to think for the abovementioned problem for team India.
