MBA in Financial Services


London School of Business and Finance (LSBF) is one of the only UK institutions to offer an MBA ‘top-up’ for ACCA and CIMA qualified candidates - the MBA in Financial Services. This innovative programme is validated by the University of East London and has been specially designed for practicing finance and accounting managers who want to ‘top up’ their professional qualification to Masters Level.
The focus of the programme – covering Marketing Planning, Strategic Planning, Organisational Behaviour and Operations Management – gives students the practical and analytical tools they need to flourish in senior executive roles. The programme is also a perfect springboard for those wishing to continue their research at doctoral level.
Who should study MBA in Financial Services?
• ACCA and CIMA qualified candidates
• If you are starting your CIMA or ACCA studies, or are part way through them, LSBF offer a special set-price package to enable you to book your professional papers and MBA in Financial Services at the same time.
Structure and Delivery
The MBA in Financial Services is composed of 4 modules and a dissertation to be completed in a maximum period of 12 months on a full-time basis. The programme can also be studied in blocks (on a part-time or blended basis) to fit with work commitments. Part-time study is available atweekends, subject to student numbers.
Full-time students typically study for 10 weeks and then 9 months will be allocated to self study on the Management Dissertation while taking part in our free Intensive Career Development Programme. Part-time students will do one module per semester and be able to complete in 12 months.
There are no options, all modules are compulsory.
The four modules are (for more details see the full syllabus):

• Marketing Planning
• Strategic Planning
• Organisational Behaviour
• Operations Management
The Management Dissertation should be related to aspects of Financial Services, and may be based on project work in the student's workplace. This dissertation forms a critical element in each student’s career development. Working closely with a specialist LSBF tutor, students can use this part of the programme to showcase their research abilities, contribute original knowledge in their specialist field and create a defining statement of their professional direction.
Students who have completed ACCA 3.5 or CIMA P6 gain exemptions (subject to your ACCA/CIMA curriculum and work experience) from the Strategic Planning module.
