Exam phobia is prevalent among almost all of the students whether he be a genius or a normal student. In spite of dedicated and long sitting preparations, a worry about the exam persists. The fear of the question paper lingers over the mind the whole night before the paper.

Whether the question paper will have those questions that I have studied?

Whether I will be able to retain all the topics I have learned?

Whether I will be able to reproduce the topics learned on the answer sheet effectively?

Whether the time will be sufficient enough to complete the whole paper?

All these thoughts keeps on striking the cerebrum and increasing the worries. These worries sometimes decrease the learning power and increases anxiety. Peace of mind is very essential while preparing for any subject. one should be calm at mind and cool at heart. Open the book and go through every chapter taking into account the conceptual understanding of each and every topic. Do not just focus on mugging up the concepts. it will be just fooling yourself as the words just stick to the mouth and not mind. Hence leads to a temporary preparation and there are chances of missing or forgetting the important points during the exam. So try to understand the chapters like a story. Try to make a sequence of the various sub topics and try to link and associate them. It improves the learning power. Try to concentrate on the diagrams and understand by them. it gives a very clear idea about the theory explained. writing down the important points is also a very good habit. This practice fixes permanently what you have learned so far.

Revision is an indispensable part of learning any subject without flaws. Revision is like cementing and making the house of knowledge 'Pukka'. After the completion of every chapter try to revise it completely. look at the points where you fumble and forget and learn them more deeply. Revision after certain regular intervals makes the concept more strong and better impression of the topics covered is in your mind then. A single reading of the entire book is just gambling yourself. Its a human nature that tends to forget most of the things. It is only the practice which makes the man perfect. So revision here marks the practice which one should do consistently for better understanding.

Attempting the exam paper is also an art. Studying matters but how you present the paper, how you utilize the time allotted also matters a lot in earning good marks. Here are some tips how to make your exam paper better and more marks fetching:

1. First of all go through the question paper thoroughly and tick mark the questions in which you expertise and can attempt them very efficiently. Start up with such questions in your answer sheet that too in a very good handwriting so that the very first impression you put on the examiner is good enough. It pleases his/her mind and in the same thought he checks the paper and is more lenient.

2. Try to make points rather than using lengthy paragraphs. Bulky paragraphs irritates the examiner as it becomes very difficult for him to go through them as each examiner has hundreds of copies to check. Make the points in bold letters so that they are easily highlighted and catches the examiner eye.

3. Make good use of the diagrams. Try to explain most of the things in a diagrammatic way. You can make own imaginary diagrams as well to make the concepts more clear. It reveals how good you are at the topic.

4. The questions which you are not sure about attempt them at the end. even if you don't know anything, try to write something in it but try such tricks only in the end. It gives a sense of total completion of the paper.

I am an engineering student. This kind of a suggestion is truly interesting and has made me confident.I have been greatly influenced,by this article,to maintain the spirit of tackling the examinations with ease.As our present syllabus is concerned we are forced to rush up with the contents and we are practically in a great dilemma whether to give importance to marks or to gaining knowledge. This is because we have been in the pressure to perform well all throughout our semesters.I am sure this kind of an approach to the way of learning will surely help us in any kind of pressurized situation.
Thank You
