Tips Getting Better Car Accident Insurance Claim Settlement

Have you met a car accident and you are going to file the claim for accident? Insurance claim settlement can be filed in many ways. You should not drive away by the by the adjuster or the claim settlement process. Knowledge is always powerful, if you have the right knowledge and help, it can be easier to settle an insurance claim. Following are the four ways in which you can negotiate a better settlement.
1: Photos or pictures are better to explain and tells much more than that can be explained by words or mouth. So if you have met with an accident then immediately take pictures of the accident site. If you are not at fault, then you are safe and show it with pictures. Do not take photo only of the damaged vehicles but also take the photograph of the street and crossings at which the accident took place.
2: When you finish taking photos of damaged vehicles then you take pictures of you injuries. Do not restrict yourself with the accident scene photographs. So turn the camera on yourself and take each and every injury photo that you got due to accident. Take close up and farther away pictures so that the adjuster or insurance company will get a good idea of what bodily injury you suffered. Remember to take pictures right after the accident and then a few days later as well. Some injuries such as swelling or bruises might take time to show up. If your arm or leg has been wrapped up in a bandage, get a picture of that. If possible, even get a picture of the injury before it was wrapped.
3: Next comes the medical reports data. Ask your Doctor to give the detailed report since you got a car accident and will be placing a claim. Doctor’s handwritten reports may be difficult to read to the adjuster and Insurance companies so request your Doctor to give the report either in typing or a computerized print so that everyone can review them without any difficulty. These notes can really help your case if they show that all of your aches and pains were caused by the car crash.
4: Finally before submitting the documents review all papers. Check everything. When you have all the documents in line and in proper format then you can very well negotiate and deal with an adjuster. The documents should cover the car accident, the damages to the vehicle, and pictures of the accident scene, the medical notes, and photos. Other information to have handy would be the police report. The insurance company may not be negotiating a high as number as you want because they are missing some of the documentation. That is why it is so important for you to be organized with your information. If the insurance company is missing it and you have a copy, this will help your case immensely. You can fax or send them a copy and show them the reason for the amount you requested.
Knowledge is Power so the more knowledge you have about your car accident the more power you have to negotiate with the adjuster and Insurance companies. Since you have pictures of the accident site, your injuries, detailed medical notes and your detailed research and documents you should be doing well. All of these items allow you to be knowledgeable as you negotiate.
