Jammu and Kashmir Education Minister Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed today escaped a bid on life when militants opened fire at his convoy at Sangrama, about 40 kilometres from Srinagar.
Sayeed, who is also Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President, was on his way to Sopore when militants fired several rounds of bullets at his vehicle.
There is no information about the number of people injured in the attack.
“Militants fired at my vehicle at Potkhah today. My guards returned the fire. Thank God, no one was injured," the minister said.
On Saturday, eleven people, including four soldiers of the Border Security Force (BSF) were wounded in a car bomb blast in Srinagar.
